Race 1: SMARTSTATE RENTALS BENCHMARK 60 Handicap 1800 metres
 
UNSHAKEABLE – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight. When questioned in relation to the performance of the gelding, Jockey C Spry stated that his mount failed respond to his riding and was disappointing over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in both forelegs, Trainer Mr B Kenning was advised a veterinary clearance would be required prior to accepting for a future race start. Jockey C Spry was reprimanded under the provisions of AR208(2)(a) for failing to weigh in following the event. When determining the penalty stewards took into consideration the Jockey Spry entered the Jockeys room only momentarily before returning to scale.
 
PLANET WARRIOR – Overraced in the early and middle stages.
 
MISHANI COURAGE –Overraced in the early and middle stages.
 
CASURINA STAR – Slow to begin.
 
LUCKY FOR SOME – Dropped whip passing the 200m. Stewards opened an inquiry into the riding of LUCKY FOR SOME over the concluding stages of the event. After taking evidence from Jockey B El’Issa, stewards adjourned the inquiry to a time and date to be fixed.
 
Race 2: TAB LONG MAY WE PLAY Maiden Plate 1300 metres
 
BRAHMINY – Momentarily held up for clear running on entering the home straight.
 
HEAD CHEF – Raced wide throughout.
 
RIGHT BOWER – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
MAX'N'MAT – Laid out when placed under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
BEYOND REPROACH – Jumped away awkwardly. Laid out rounding the home turn.
 
GINGER BICKY – Slow to begin.
 
Race 3: MTC MORE THAN JUST A RACECOURSE BENCHMARK 70
Handicap 1300 metres
 
SUCH A WHIT – A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
 
MISS TOO FLY – When questioned in relation to the performance of the mare, Jockey L Tilley stated that when attempting to find cover in the middle stages of the event, his mount dropped the bit and lost considerable ground. He added from that point his mount failed to respond to his riding and ran to the line in a disappointing manner.
 
TRUMP ME – Momentarily inconvenienced on entering the home straight.
 
ACADEMY HILL – Momentarily held up for clear running on entering the home straight.
 
BONDI BEAU – Jockey N Day was fined the sum of $200 under the provisions of AR211(1) for returning to scale in excess of half a kilogram overweight.
 
VINCIT – Underwent a prerace veterinary examination and was passed fit to start.
 
Race 4:  BOOK YOUR EVENTS AT THE CLUB OPEN Handicap 1050 metres
 
QUICK VERSE – A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Trainer Mr. J Manzelmann was advised QUICK VERSE would be restricted to competing at non TAB venues until finding competitive form.
 
DUTCH ROCKET – Overraced in the early and middle stages of the event.
 
Race 5: WELCOME THE PINK LADIES BENCHMARK 55 Handicap
1560 metres
 
CENTAUR – When questioned in relation to the performance of the gelding, Jockey N Thomas stated that his mount failed to corner throughout the race and weakened noticeably over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
 
ROCK 'N' SOL – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
MARNDARRA – A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
 
FEATHER YOUR NEST (NZ) – Hampered on jumping away. Held up for clear running on entering the home straight.
 
WITH TRUST – Slow to begin.
 
MOTHERLODE – Jumped away awkwardly. Overraced in the early and middle stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly had lost its near fore plate in running.
 
Race 6: BOOK NOW FOR THE AMATEURS SAT 29TH MAY BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1100 metres
 
SEVEN YEAR REWARD – Jumped away awkwardly. Laid out rounding the home turn.
 
OVERSEAS (NZ) – Raced wide throughout the event.
 
TARAKI  - Held up for clear running on entering the home straight and had to shift out to improve into clear running. Rider C Whiteley reported that in his opinion the mare is better suited running over further distances.
 
LAST EDITION – Slow to begin.
 
BOLD THALIA – Held up for clear running on entering the home straight between WREN PLUCKED AND HURRICANE FIGHTER (NZ) and was unable to improve until passing the 200m.
 
WREN PLUCKED -Raced wide throughout the event.
 
TINDER - Jumped away awkwardly.
 
Race 7: "FRI-YAY!" RACING FRIDAY 30TH APRIL QTIS Three-Year-Old Handicap 1100 metres
 
MISS LOT WON – Slow to begin.
 
BITTERGREYMAGIC – Overraced in the early and middle stages. Approaching the 800m shifted out despite the efforts of its rider contacting EMILEE’S EMPIRE. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
 
THE SILVER LADY – Slow to begin.
 
OUR STORMY GIRL – When questioned regarding the performance of Apprentice M Potgieter stated that his mount travelled well throughout the event but when placed under pressure over the concluding stages his mount weakened noticeably. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
 
EMILEE'S EMPIRE – Hampered passing the 800m and became awkward in its stride. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to have cardiac arrythmia. Stewards advised Trainer L Wright that a veterinary clearance including the results of an electrocardiogram (ECG) would be required prior to passing an official trial.
 
SHEMADEMEDOIT – Overraced in the early and middle stages.
 
READY BETTY – Jumped away awkwardly.
