After considering all the evidence Stewards found that approaching the 300m NECESSITAS (NZ) shifted out carrying DECROUX out onto SCHAPPOSE (NZ). Approaching the 100m SCHAPPOSE (NZ) laid in placing DECROUX in restricted room for a number of strides. Bearing in mind the minimal contact between both runners and that the main interference suffered to DECROUX was caused by the shift of NECESSITAS (NZ), Stewards could not be comfortably satisfied that had such incident not occurred DECROUX would have finished in advance of SCHAPPOSE (NZ) and, therefore, the protest was dismissed.
