After taking evidence from all parties and viewing the available footage, Stewards found that near the 50m, BETTER DAYS AHEAD had to be steadied and checked after being carried in by WIDESPREAD which had shifted in when not clear to do so. However after taking into consideration the margin, the location of the interference and the manner both horses were finishing the race Stewards could not be satisfied that BETTER DAYS AHEAD would have finished in front of WIDESPREAD and accordingly the protest was dismissed with correct weight declared on the judge’s placings.
