Wilson SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT GENERAL As Jockey S. Sheargold was absent from todays meeting due to illness, he was subsequently replaced as per the race day stewards summary. Jockey Sheargold was advised he would require a medical clearance prior to returning to race riding. Race 1: TAB LONG MAY WE PLAY BENCHMARK 60 Handicap 1800 metres TENNESSEE WHISKEY – Raced keen in the initial stages. NAOMI – Slow to begin. MISHANI DREAMER – Slow to begin. Over raced in the early and middle stages. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight. WHOOPIE WOOP TRAIN – Yielded ground noticeably in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities. RIVER TYCOON – Injured itself in the float on route to the course. Was declared a late scratching at 9:50am on veterinary advice. Trainer G. Holt was advised the gelding would require a veterinary clearance prior to returning to racing. Race 2: SKY RACING OPEN Handicap 1200 metresCorrect weight was delayed briefly to allow Jockey Ryan Wiggins, rider of second placed FANAAR(NZ), to view the photo finish for first. After the image revealed a clear margin correct weight was declared. FANNAR (NZ) – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Race keenly in the early and middle stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have bled from both nostrils for the first time. Trainer P. Fleming was advised his runner would be barred from racing for a period of three months and would further be required to complete a satisfactory 1000m gallop to the satisfaction of stewards prior to returning to racing. TOY BOY – Jockey C. Whiteley was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for his use of the whip on six occasions prior to the 100m (1 more than permitted). MASON’S CHANCE – Inclined to lay in throughout. Apprentice N. Seymour was reprimanded under AR132(6)(c) for her use of the whip whilst her mount was out of contention. CORPORAL – Trainer Tim Cook explained that connections were satisfied to start the gelding as they felt the form of runners in this event was not overly strong and that the gelding would be competitive, however he personally was not overly confident of the horses’ winning prospects. Race 3: SMARTSTATE RENTALS QTIS Three-Year-Old Maiden Handicap 1050 metres JUST SUPER – Slow to begin. Shifted in under pressure in the home straight. SECRET QUALITY – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight. ROGUE ENCOUNTER – Began awkwardly contacting DAIQUIRI DAYS. Raced wide without cover in the early and middle stages before obtaining a rearward position near the 600m. Tailed off in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. FLAMING HOMER – Raced wide without cover for the majority. CITY MISSION – Began awkwardly. Disappointed for a run near the 350m and as a result was forced to shift out across the heels of DIAMOND MONEY to obtain clear running. MISHANI HOOD – Tailed off in the home straight taking no further competitive part in the event. A post- race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities DAIQUIRI DAYS – Bumped on jumping. Race 4: BOOK FOR CLASSIC RACEDAY SATURDAY 1ST OCTOBER Class 6 Plate 1560 metres SHADOW GODDESS – Slow to begin. Improved onto the heels of TEZOFF near 1350m and was forced to steady. TEZOFF– Began awkwardly. DIAMONDS’N’STONES – Upon returning to scale Jockey R. Wiggins advised that, after obtaining a soft lead and over racing slightly in the initial stages, his mount proved to be slightly disappointing. Race 5: TAB VENUE MODE Maiden Handicap 1100 metres JEITOSO – Improved onto heels when over racing and was forced to steady near the 800m. Held up rounding the home turn. MR DEMOLITION – Inclined to lay in over the concluding stages. Upon returning to scale Jockey B. Pengelly advised that his saddle slipped near the 500m and as a result he was unbale ride his mount out with full vigour in the home straight. STRONACH – Galloped on behind near the 800m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed superficial abrasions to both hind legs. FI DE COUER – Difficult to load and delayed the start. Trainer J Manzelmann was advised a warning was now placed against the mares’ starting manners. Slow to begin. KEEP ON FIGHTING – Slow to begin. COOEEBAYMAGIC – Began awkwardly. Raced wide without cover in the early and middle stages. BRIDEZILLA (NZ) – Began awkwardly. Race 6: SHARYN'S BIRTHDAY SURPRISE BENCHMARK 55 Handicap 1100 metres SANTORINI SUMMER – Raced wide throughout. MAKING CONTACT – Jumped in the air at the start and lost ground. Shifted out under pressure in the home straight. GHOSTED – Slow to begin. SHALUNA – Began awkwardly. Forced outwards onto MARNDARRA leaving the 900m. MARNDARRA – Steadied off the heels of SHALUNA leaving the 900m. WHOSHOTTHEMAGICIAN – Approaching the 900m, momentarily raced in restricted room when CAPTIAN FOX shifted in, and SANTORINI SUMMER shifted outwards. Hung out across the heels of CAPTIAN FOX leaving the 900m despite noticeable effort from rider N Thomas and as a result forced SHALUNA outwards onto MARNDARRA. ANNAKURI – Began awkwardly. Race 7: RACING AGAIN TUESDAY 23RD AUGUST RATINGS BAND 0 - 65 Handicap 1300 metresTrainer L Wright (LILY ALLEZ) was fined $100 under AR 106(1) for presenting his runner to the saddling paddock wearing the incorrect number. Jockey N Day (LILY ALLEZ) was fined $100 under AR 227(a) for negligence, in that he provided the incorrect number with his saddle to trainer L Wright after weighing out. KAHAYLAAN – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Over raced in the early and middle stages. Improved onto heels and was forced to steady near the 700m. ROADHOUSE – Jockey R Wiggins reported that the gelding was inclined to hang outwards over the final 300m when placed under pressure. ASK ME TOMORROW – Began awkwardly. ELLE A WALKING – Held up for clear running when rounding the home turn and for most of the home straight. SCENT OF FEAR – Began awkwardly. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight. LILY ALLEZ (NZ) – Slow to begin. Jockey N Day reported that the mare proved difficult to control on occasions during the run and recommended gear alterations be made to rectify the matter.
