SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT
 
 
GENERAL
 
Due to a fall in race 4 the following time amendments were required; Race 5 – 3.55pm, Race 6 – 4.20pm & Race 7 – 4.50pm
 
Race 1: TAB LONG MAY WE PLAY QTIS Three-Year-Old Handicap
1300 metres
 
MISSION HOUSE – Jumped in the air at the start and lost ground. Over raced during the middle stages. Laid in under pressure.
 
MR WHITTINGTON – Began awkwardly losing ground.Raced ungenerously early.Three wide throughout. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed no abnormalities.
 
DOVI'S DAY – Slow to begin. Raced three wide early.
 
MISHANI CAPTIVE – Raced keenly early stages.
 
FLAMING HOMER – Raced keenly early and middle stages.
 
MISHANI HOOD – Raced greenly throughout.
 
MISHANI JEWEL – Raced in restricted room near the 250m when DOVI’S DAY was carried inwards by MISSION HOUSE, which shifted in under pressure. MISHANI JEWEL then shifted wider to obtain clear racing room. Checked and forced wider near the 200m. Apprentice Jade Doolan (DOVI’S DAY) pleaded guilty to a charge under AR131(a) for careless riding, in that near 200m she permitted her mount to shift out under pressure resulting in MISHANI JEWEL being checked and forced wider. The license to ride in races of Ms Doolan was suspended for 8 days to commence midnight 27th August 2022 and to conclude midnight 4th September 2022.
 
Race 2: QCWA STATE PRESIDENT - SHIELA CAMPBELL Maiden
Handicap 1200 metres
 
JEITOSO – Began awkwardly.
 
TYCOON ILLUSION – Laid in under pressure.
 
POLITE APPLAUSE (NZ)
 
AIR LIFTED – Three wide for the majority.
 
KEEP ON FIGHTING – Tightened on jumping and soon after clipped heels and blundered.
 
IMARA – Began awkwardly
 
FI DE COUER – Declared a late scratching at 1.46pm when the mare failed to load into the barrier. Prior to correct weight being given the following betting deductions were advised; all bets for the winner be paid less one cent for the place with no deduction for win bets, all bets for second be paid less one cent and all bets for third be paid less one cent in the dollar value of the ticket. All bets on FI DE COUER were ordered to be refunded in full. Connections of FI DE COUER were advised that the mare has been stood down from racing until performing a satisfactory barrier trial.
 
DIAMOND VICTORY – Slow to begin.
 
NANNA BAX – Began awkwardly.
 
Race 3: QCWA PATRON QLD GOVERNOR DR JEANETTE YOUNG Class 6
Handicap 1200 metres
 
DR NEIGH – Raced keenly early and middle stages. Over raced and checked off the heels of BONDI BEAU near the 700m and shifted out inconveniencing WREN PLUCKED.
 
SCENT OF FEAR – Jumped awkwardly.Hung in under pressure.
 
WREN PLUCKED – Inconvenienced near 700m.
 
Race 4: QCWA COMMUNITY STALWARTS - SCONES & CREAM Class 3
Plate 1100 metres
 
BONES – Held up for clear running early in the home straight before shifting out near the 200m to obtain a clear run.
 
BOOM BOOM BECKER – Three wide with cover early.
 
JABALI GOLD – Began awkwardly.
 
WILD WIND – Collapsed and fell inside the final 100m. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding revealed the cause of death to be an internal bleed. Jockey Nathan Thomas was attended to by the on-course paramedics before being transferred to hospital for further assessment for a suspected broken right collarbone. Mr Thomas is required present a medical clearance prior to resuming riding.
 
YUAN FEN – Declared a late scratching at 2.56pm on vets’ advice when the gelding reared in the barrier and was found to have blood in one nostril. Prior to correct weight being given the following betting deductions were advised; all bets for the winner be paid less four cents for the win and six cents for the place, all bets for second be paid less seven cents and all bets for third be paid less nine cents in the dollar value of the ticket. All bets on YUAN FEN were ordered to be refunded in full. A further post-race examination revealed the cause of bleeding to the nostril was from the head trauma when the gelding struck the barrier structure.
 
WIT – Slow away.
 
MARNDARRA – Wide with cover for the majority.
 
BETTER DAYS AHEAD – Began awkwardly. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
Race 5: QCWA PIONEER DIVISION MEMBERS BENCHMARK 55
Handicap 1300 metres
 
MAKING CONTACT – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Raced ungenerously early before settling towards the rear. Hung out throughout the run.
 
NATIVE BEE – Raced tight to the inside of NO HARM DONE near the 900m and had to be steadied for a number of strides.
 
CHICO – Laid in under pressure.
 
Race 6: QCWA FOUNDER RUTH FAIRFAX OPEN Handicap 1300 metres
 
BRAD – Began awkwardly. Raced keen early. Inclined to lay in over the concluding stages. Apprentice Alisha Donald was reprimanded under AR 132(7)(a)(ii) for applying the whip on six occasions prior to the 100m (1 more than permitted).

LOUD ENOUGH – Jade Doolan was the approved replacement rider for Shae Nielson (injured). Began awkwardly.
 
AHOOSHU – A post-race veterinary examination revealed significant lameness to the off foreleg consistent with a suspensory strain. The gelding was treated and has now been stood down pending a veterinary clearance.

SO YOU DREAM – Laid in under pressure in the early part of the home straight.
 
DANAWI – Began awkwardly. Over raced in the middle stages. Laid in under pressure.
 
MASON’S CHANCE – Tightened on jumping.
 
QUIDNI – Laid in under pressure.
 
Race 7: QCWA SARINA BRANCH MEMBERS Class 3 Handicap 1560 metres
 
CORPORAL – Raced wide early. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a minor laceration to the front of the near foreleg.
 
KAHAYLAAN – Laid in under pressure.
 
GHOSTED – Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
MISHANI TULIP – Slow to begin.
 
MISHANI DREAMER – Threw its head in the air soon after the start and lost ground.
