GENERAL
 
Overweight permitted as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.
 
Race 1: CCG TERMINATIONS BENCHMARK 70 Handicap 1560 metres
 
SCHAPPOSE (NZ) – Laid in for the majority of the race.
 
BOOM GATE – Jumped in the air at the start and was slow to begin.
 
RAPAPORT (NZ) – Jockey Ashley Butler was queried in relation to the disappointing performance of the gelding. Mr Butler advised he was instructed to race forward and if able to dictate a moderate tempo he should allow RAPAPORT (NZ) to stride from the 600m as the gelding is one paced. Mr Butler added that after travelling well his mount failed to quicken from the 600m and proved to be disappointing overall. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
 
ELLE A WALKING – Hung in under pressure.
 
LETS TORQUE A DEEL – Slow to begin.
 
HILVERSTON – Began awkwardly. Raced in restricted room between runners near the 200m.
 
ROCK 'N' SOL – Hung in under pressure.
 
MAKING CONTACT – Slow to begin.
 
Race 2: APEC CABLES QTIS Three-Year-Old Handicap 1300 metres
 
 
FLAMING HOMER – Bumped on jumping. Raced keenly during the early stages.
 
MISSION HOUSE – Jumped outwards at the start bumping FLAMING HOMER out onto MISHANI REBOUND.
 
MISHANI REBOUND – Bumped on jumping.
 
HEROIC KNIGHT – Slow to begin.
 
 
Race 3: HP & CP AUSTRALIA RATINGS BAND 0 - 55 Handicap 1300 metres
 
 
GRANT'S PATCH – Bumped on jumping. Raced 3 wide throughout.
 
TYCOON ILLUSION – Bumped on jumping. Raced 3 wide with cover.
 
BLACKSHAW – Bumped on jumping.
 
KEEP ON FIGHTING – Slow to begin.
 
REVELLERS – Bumped on jumping. Laid in under pressure.
 
MIDNIGHT BOOM – Raced 3 wide with cover.
 
MY ZEBRINKA – Laid in under pressure.
 
SHARINDI – Raced keenly near the 1100m and got its head in the air for a short distance. Held up for a clear run rounding the home turn.
 
 
 
Race 4: APS INDUSTRIAL Maiden Handicap 1200 metres
 
INCLUSION – Slow to begin. Raced 3 wide throughout.
 
AIR LIFTED – Slow to begin. Raced 4 wide throughout.
 
IMARA – Hung out throughout the run. Jockey Ryan Wiggins advised that the mare hung out badly during the run and he felt something was amiss with its action. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Trainer Jared Wehlow advised that he intends to reconsider the racing future of the mare.
 
DIRTY OR DRY – Slow to begin. Raced 3 wide throughout. Laid in under pressure.
 
STANDOVER MAN – Jockey Natalie Summers was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for applying the whip to her mount on 6 occasions prior to the 100m (1 more than permitted).
 
Race 5: MM ELECTRICAL MACKAY NQ CLASSIC 3YO & 4YO QTIS BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1800 metres
 
AGUSTAWYND – Trainer Tim Cook advised that he felt the mare pulled up flat and may look to give AUGUATAWYND a let up.
 
BAYERISCHE – Bumped on jumping. Hung in under pressure for the majority of the home straight bumping with TRICOLGY (NZ) on a number of occasions. Jockey Nathan Day reported that due to the gelding hanging in he was unable to ride his mount at fully to the finish. Trainer Tom Smith is to be advised that a warning has been placed against the gelding’s racing manners.
 
TRICOLOGY (NZ) – Bumped on jumping. Bumped with BAYERISCHE on a number of occasions over the final 200m.
 
MISHANI TULIP – Had to be steadied from heels near the 800m.A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have bled from both nostrils for the first time. MISHANI TULIP has been banned from racing under the provisions of AR79 for 3 months and until performing a satisfactory 1000m gallop to the satisfaction of stewards.
 
STREET GLORY – Began Awkwardly. Bumped and checked soon after the start. Raced in restricted room near the 650 and when being restrained, shifted in of its own accord and bumped the running rail resulting in App Melea Castle becoming unbalanced for a short distance.
 
SO FIRED UP – Raced keenly during the early and middle stages before obtaining the lead near the 1200m. Hung out rounding the 1500m turn.
 
DOVI'S DAY – Began awkwardly. Bumped on jumping.
 
Race 6: KLEIN TOOLS Class 3 Plate 1100 metres
 
JABALI GOLD – Jumped inwards at the start checking SABOR. Shifted outwards abruptly soon after the start despite concerted efforts from Jockey Nathan Day bumping DEVIL out onto WIT resulting in that runner clipping heels and blundering. Held up for clear running near the 200m and switched in across the heels of BASTILLE DAY to obtain clear running.
 
BASTILLE DAY – Momentarily raced in restricted room near the 1050m when THE SQUIRE was taken out by DEVIL.
 
SABOR – Checked soon after the start. Held up for clear racing room rounding the home turn and until leaving the 300m. Hung in under pressure over the final 200m.
 
THE GRADUATE – Blundered soon after the start. Dipped near the 500m.
 
THE SQUIRE – Jockey Chris Whiteley advised that due to the gelding hanging in he was unable to ride his mount out fully to the finish.
WIT – Jumped in the air at the start and was slow to begin. Checked, clipped heels, and blundered soon after the start.
 
DEVIL – Began awkwardly.
 
VITAE – Raced 3 wide without cover before obtaining the lead near the 600m.
 
LILY ALLEZ (NZ) – Hung in under pressure.
