Cullen GENERALStewards permitted the following overweights:R3 – Les Tilly - +1kgR7 – Chris Whitely - +0.5kg Race 1: TAB Maiden Handicap 1050 metres KUSUNOKI – Jumped in at start and bumped MY DAD’S BETTER. Raced greenly in the early stages of the home straight. UNO ARTIE – Jumps out at start. Held up for clear racing room in the early stages of the home straight. ATHENA'S SECRET – Very slow to begin. Lay in when placed under pressure in the home straight. C'EST BELLE – Slow to begin. Passing the 800m and again at the 650m Apprentice E. Molloy became unbalanced when C’EST BELLE raced erratically and lost ground. STAZY – Jumped in at start and bumped LUCIA MARIA. Lay in over the concluding stages. Cast near fore plate in running. LUCIA MARIA – Tightened for room on jumping and bumped by STAZY. MY DAD'S BETTER – Jumped outwards at start and bumped KUSUNOKI. Raced wide throughout. Race 2: SKY RACING QTIS Three-Year-Old Class 2 Handicap 1100 metres EYE PEE OH READY – Bumped by SIMPLY BETTER which shifted in at the 200 metres. ZIPPING IRISH – Passing the 650m had to be steadied of the heels of SIMPLY BETTER when it shifted out, as a result VALTINO lost ground. SIMPLY BETTER – Delayed the start when fractious in the barrier. Shifted out passing the 650m to obtain clear running. Shifted in over the concluding stages bumping EYE PEE OH READY as a result ZIPPING IRISH had to ease. VALTINO – Began awkwardly. DIAMOND MONEY – Began Awkwardly and lost ground as a result. Raced wide throughout. Race 3: BECOME A MEMBER OF MTC OPEN Handicap 1560 metres BERING SEA – Bumped on jumping by FORTIFIED. SIBERIAN ROUTE – Over raced in the early stages and refused to settle. Bumped by FORTIFIED passing the 250m. SCHAPPOSE – Trainer T. Cook and Apprentice E. Molloy were questioned in relation to the improved performance of SCHAPPOSE in winning today’s event, when leading all the way in comparison to the performance at Thangool on the 2nd of May when the gelding finished in last position when ridden off the speed. Mr Cook advised that at SCHAPPOSE’s previous start that he instructed Apprentice E. Molly to ride in a forward position however race circumstances resulted in the gelding being ridden in a midfield position. Mr Cook advised that the gelding races best when in a forward position. Stewards noted Mr Cooks explanation. FORTIFIED – Upon jumping bumped BEARING SEA. Passing the 250m shifted out bumping SIBERIAN ROUTE. ROCK 'N' SOL – Disappointed for a run in the early stages of the home straight and improved onto the heels of FORTEFIED. Jockey L. Tilley was fined $200 under AR211 (1&2) when he weighed in after race 5 in excess of 0.5kg over the allocated weight. IN BEL'S SHADOW – Over raced in the early and middle stages. IN YOUR ELEMENT – Raced wide for the majority. Race 4: BOOK EVENT CENTRE FOR FUNCTIONS RATINGS BAND 0 - 55Handicap 1050 metres OUR IRISH EMPEROR – Trainer B. Trimble reported to stewards that OUR IRISH EMPEROR was involved in an incident in the float when in transit to the race meeting, Subsequently a pre-race veterinarian examination was conducted, revealing the gelding had suffered an injury with nearside lateral swelling. Following the veterinarian examination OUR IRISH EMPEROR was declared a late scratching at 1:10pm on veterinarian advice. Trainer B Trimble will be required to supply a Veterinary Certificate of Fitness before OUR IRISH EMPEROR races again. VILA TINTO – Began awkwardly. BETTER DAYS AHEAD – Approaching the 250m shifts in marginally and contacted the nearside shoulder of CHATTILY. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight. CHILENA – Blundered on jumping. Passing the 700m had to be steadied when improving onto the heels of CHATILLY. Held up for clear racing room when entering the home straight. Approaching the 250m shifted out looking to obtain clear racing room as a result CHATILLY was tightened. CANTOR – Slow to begin. Eases off the heels of a tiring ACT OF ROYALTY at the 150 metres. CHATILLY – Slow to begin. Approaching the 250m BETTER DAYS AHEAD shifted in marginally and bumped CHATILLY. As a result Jockey T. Chambers became unbalanced simultaneously. Simultaneously CHILENA then shifted out away from heels looking to improve, as a result this compounded the tightening received by CHATILLY. ACT OF ROYALTY – Slow to begin. Tired over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinarian examination revealed no significant abnormalities. Race 5: BOOK FOR AMATEUR CUP SAT 27TH MAY BENCHMARK 70Handicap 1200 metres BLUE KENTUCKY MOON – Momentarily tightened for room when tiring when COURTESY BUS shifted in passing the 300 metres. BLUE KENTUCKY MOON was having its first start since a spell and compounded over the final stages. A post race veterinarian examination revealed no significant abnormalities. COURTESY BUS – Passing the 300m shifts in tightening BLUE KENTUCKY MOON which was tiring. EMILEE'S EMPIRE – Raced wide throughout. IMPOSING BEAU – Jockey F. Edwards became unbalanced on jumping. Jockey F. Edwards was fined $200 under AR211 when he weighed in after Race 5 in excess of 0.5kg over the allocated weight. SHADOW GODDESS – Began awkwardly and slow to begin as a result. SUCH A WHIT – Slow to begin. THE KRONE – Over raced in the middle stages. Race 6: SMARTSTATE RENTALS BENCHMARK 55 Handicap1300 metres FARMER'S FRIEND – Bumped by ADMIRAL ASH entering the home straight. FUTURE IDEA – Eased off the heels of ADMIRAL ASH approaching the 250m. MOHAHNA – Began awkwardly then shifts out hampering ADMIRAL ASH. TRI NATIONS – Reared as gates opened and lost ground. ADMIRAL ASH – Slow to begin, shortly after hampered by MOHANA which shifted out. Commenced to pull hard and had to be steadied in the middle stages when over racing. Brushed the rail on two occasions passing the 850m. Held up for clear running in the home straight. Shifts out on entering the home turn and bumps FARMER’S FRIEND, then shifts in abruptly causing FUTURE IDEA to ease off heels. ADMIRAL ASH had difficulty obtaining clear running in the home straight. Stewards spoke with the rider Apprentice T Leslight in relation to the amount of control he had shown when attempting to obtain clear running in the straight. Race 7: RACING AGAIN SATURDAY 27TH MAY BENCHMARK 60Handicap 1800 metres MOTAMAYIZ – Began awkwardly. TRICKY BEANS – Jockey R. Wiggins dropped his whip passing the 300m. Hung out severely over the concluding stages. Connections of TRICKY BEANS were advised that the gelding would have a warning placed on it for hanging out badly over the final 250 metres. Stewards will speak to Jockey R. Wiggins regarding weighing in heavy (60.2 Kg) following race 7 at a time and date to be fixed. HE WILL ACHEEV – Raced wide throughout. SMART RUBICK – Began awkwardly bumping COMMANDER’S WATCH. IKIGAI STAR – Raced wide throughout. COMMANDER'S WATCH – Bumped on jumping by SMART RUBRIK.
