Stewards inquired into the incident near the 1050m when KUROMI SAMA was restrained with TAMINGO FOLLIES also being placed in restricted room. After hearing evidence from riders C Lennon, C Whiteley and apprentice E Molloy (assisted by trainer T Cook) it was established KUROMI SAMA had improved its position sharply to the inside of LUCIA MARIA which was attempting to shift inwards. Prior to shifting ground C Whiteley had looked numerous times to his inside and as he commenced his inwards movement he was clear of KUROMI SAMA which then simultaneously improved its position sharply. He stated after being slow to begin, he rode his mount in a positive manner to settle further forward but had to be restrained shortly afterwards when avoiding another runner.
