SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT
 
4th November 2023 – Barcaldine: Race 4 BENCHMARK 50 Handicap (1000 Metres)
 
ALLELUIA – Trainer C. Austin advised Stewards that ALLELUIA had pulled up well since its bleed at Barcaldine and had forwarded through photos and videos of the gelding to stewards. Mr C. Austin reiterated that ALLELUIA will still be retired.
 
 
GENERAL
 
Due to a traffic incident between Mackay and Rockhampton, the start of today’s meeting was delayed allowing Jockeys and Trainers travelling from Rockhampton to arrive on course with the new race start times listed below:
 
Race 1: 2:30PM
Race 2: 3:00PM
Race 3: 3:30PM
Race 4: 4:00PM
Race 5: 4:30PM
 
The following overweights were approved by Stewards:
 
Race 1 – C. Jokic – +1kg
Race 2 – G. Semmens – +1kg
Race 2 – C. Jokic – +1kg
Race 4 – G. Semmens – +0.5kg
Race 4 – C. Jokic – +1kg

Race 1: LADBROKES COMMUNITIES BENCHMARK 58 Handicap (1560 Metres)
 
LIFETIME QUEST – Jumped away awkwardly. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight. Elected to shifted out to obtain clear racing room near the 200m.
 
SHADOW GODDESS – Raced wide in the early stages of the event. Momentarily steadied near the 600m and had to shift out to obtain clear racing room after LIFETIME QUEST shifted in. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
HUNUA HANK (NZ) – Raced ungenerously in the early and middle stages of the event.
 
 
Race 2: STARCUT FLOWERS Maiden Handicap (1100 Metres)
 
CHUCKA TANTY – Slow into stride. Raced wide in the early stages of the event. Laid in when placed under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
MISHANI CRUISE – Put in an awkward stride near the 700m. Upon returning to scale, Apprentice E. Molloy reported that her mount raced ungenerously throughout the event.
 
C’EST BELLE – Slow to begin.
 
LUCIA MARIA – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
MISHANI CAPTIVE – Near the 250m had to shift out to obtain clear racing room to avoid the heels of MISHANI CRUISE.
 
 
Race 3: SUBTEST STAKES QTIS Three-Year-Old Handicap (1200 Metres)
 
MISHANI AVIATOR – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after becoming fractious in the tie-up stalls and was passed fit to start. Declared a late scratching at 3:46pm after refusing to load. Prior to the declaration of correct weight, Stewards ordered that all bets placed on MISHANI AVIATOR be refunded with the following deductions to be placed on all successful wagers:
 
29c on the dollar for the win
27c on the dollar for the place
 
Connections were advised that MISHANI AVIATOR would be required to trial to the satisfaction of stewards prior to its next future race start.
 
CHUCKA DUMMY – Had to shift in near the 250m to avoid the heels of ORCA which shifted in for a stride. Was held up for clear racing room from the 200m until leaving the 50m.
 
I’M BLUEY – Slow to begin. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
ORCA – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
KARAKAROO – Prior to the running of the event had to be reshod.
 
MISHANI TWILIGHT – Slow into stride.
 
 
Race 4: CBG PARTNERS OPEN Handicap (1300 Metres)
 
O’MUDGEE (NZ) – Slow to begin. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
READY FOR MAGIC – Laid in when placed under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
SUCH A WHIT – Had to steady and shift out to obtain clear racing room when O’MUDGEE (NZ) shifted in momentarily passing the 200m.
 
 
Race 5: EVENTS BY LAUREN BENCHMARK 65 Handicap (1050 Metres)
 
ACOUSTIX – Raced wide in the early stages of the event. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
COLD POWER – Had to steady momentarily when racing onto the heels of ACOUSTIX passing the 700m.
 
TEST OF WAR – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
SCHATZI – Slow to begin. Raced wide in the early stages of the event.
 
HILVERSTON – Jumped away awkwardly. Raced wide throughout the event.  
 
LENNY ROCKET – Slow to begin. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
