GENERAL

As jockey L. Tarrant was not riding at today’s meeting due to personal reasons, rider replacements were as per the Stewards race day summary.

Stewards inquired into the reasons why DENSITY, trained by Joshua Manzelmann who was tripled engaged in events at Mackay, was withdrawn from Race 5 with a veterinary certificate rather than a normal scratching. Trainer J. Manzelmann advised stewards’ that when scratching from the two events, he accidentally clicked the option to scratch with a veterinary certificate rather than the option for a normal scratching. Trainer J Manzelmann further added that he had scratched DENSITY out of Race 7 the correct way prior to accidentally using the veterinary certificate option. Stewards accepted Trainer Manzelmann’s explanation and ordered him to rectify the scratching reasons by contacting Racing Australia.

Schofield concurred with jockey Satherley’s comments and stated that aside from FLYING AURION needing to be reshod prior to the arrival on the race, he could offer no other reasoning for the performance.
