In assessing penalty stewards took into consideration Mr McGovern’s guilty plea, his record in relation to the rule, the fact no runner engaged in Race 1 had been denied a start due to these actions and his genuine remorse as he was of the belief that he had scratched the runners when nominating other stable runners for another meeting on the 16th of June. W. Satherley – +1kg C. Bayliss – +1kg As S Sheargold was unable to attend the meeting due to personal reasons, he was replaced in Race 1 on SAVVY MISS by W Satherley. Apprentice Martyn added that after beginning only fairly, she elected to try and position herself behind CLASS OF ROYALTY in an attempt to track that horse into the event. She added that when she attempted to do this near the 1300m, her mount started to pull hard and whilst being mindful of the stables instructions and the fact SAVVY LEGEND (NZ) had blinkers back on for this event, rather than fight and restrain her mount, she elected to let her mount stride forward and work towards the lead.
