GENERAL
Overweight permitted as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.
Race 5, Sophie Blunt was a late ride declaration on ROLLINWITHTHEFLOW and permission was granted for her to claim only 0.5KG of her allowance.
 
 
Race 1: ARNIE & RENE RIDEOUT MEMORIAL BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1400 Metres
 
GRAND DE LAGO – Rider dropped the near side rein briefly entering the home straight.
 
FEND OFF (NZ) – Began awkwardly and was slow to begin.
 
 
Race 2: PATRONS QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 1000 Metres
 
Correct weight was delayed allowing stewards to view the available replays in relation to whether SUDDEN IMPACT and DAUNTING LADY were afforded a fair start. After viewing the replays, it was established that both runners barriers were slow to open and as a result SUDDEN IMPACT was declared a non-runner in accordance with AR204(1)(c) with all bets ordered to be paid less 4 cents the win and 5 cents the place on the face value of the ticket. As DAUNTING LADY had been placed third this filly was declared a starter.
 
UNO WHAT I’M SAYIN – Hung out badly rounding the home turn. Connections were advised that a warning has now been placed against the racing manners of the gelding.

CANTOR – Raced greenly under pressure.
 
CONLEY BELL – Proved very difficult to load and delayed the start. A warning has now been placed against the loading manners of the mare.
 
BEAN GOOD – Shifted out abruptly soon after the start.

DAUNTING LADY – Checked soon after the start when BEAN GOOD shifted out.
 
REAL QUEEN – Hung in under pressure in the home straight.
 
Race 3: REDLINE BRANGUS BURNETT TO THE BEACH BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1000 Metres
 
NO BETTER AFFAIRE – Shifted out soon after the start.
 
LIEUTENANT – Carried wider immediately after the start. Raced three wide throughout.
 
HANGRY – Began awkwardly and blundered soon after the start. Trailed the field throughout.
 
OH SO REWARDING – Tightened and checked soon after the start. Raced very wide over the final 500m.
 
OUR STORMY GIRL – Jockey Paul Hamblin was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for applying the whip to his mount on six occasions prior to the 100m, 1 more than permitted.
 
STILL FEELING IT – Raced wide throughout.
 
 
 
Race 4: GORDON & EVELYN HUTTON MEMORIAL CLASS B HANDICAP 1200 Metres
 
MAVERICK HENRY – Pulled hard in the early stages.
 
CRAIGLEA ETNA – Reared as the start was affected and was very slow to begin.
 
TOY WHITTY – Jockey Morgan Butler was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for applying the whip to his mount on six occasions prior to the 100m, 1 more than permitted. Mr Butler was also reprimanded under AR131(b) for failing to fully ride his mount out to the finish when beaten into fourth placing. I not issuing a harsher penalty, stewards could not be fully satisfied that the rider’s failure had an impact on the outcome of the race.
 
 
Race 5: KEN & GORDON RUSSELL MEMORIAL OPEN HANDICAP 1200 Metres
 
Correct weight was delayed allowing stewards to view the available replays in relation to whether WRECKING BALL, KRAVITZ and WANDER were afforded a fair start. After viewing the replays, it was established that both WRECKING BALL and WANDER’S barriers were slow to open and as a result WRECKING BALL was declared a non-runner in accordance with AR204(1)(c) with all bets ordered to be paid less 9 cents the win and 10 cents the place on the face value of the ticket. As KRAVITZ and WANDER had been placed third and fourth respectively, they were declared starters.
 
 
ISIS CARMELLA – Hung out rounding the home and raced wide.
 
DALTORO – Hung out rounding the home turn and then hung in under pressure in the home straight.
 
PARTNERS – Raced wide throughout.
 
KRAVITZ – Slow to begin due to barrier failing to open with the remainder. Hung in under pressure.
 
BETTER RUSH – Hung in under pressure.
 
WANDER – Slow to begin due to barrier failing to open with the remainder.
