Race 1: QUALITY SHEDS BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 900m

WANTABETHEONE – Slowly into stride. On returning to scale was found to have bled from both nostrils in running. Trainer Mr. R Finch was advised that, this being the 1st occasion on which the gelding had bled, under the provisions of AR53, it would incur a mandatory 3 months ban and would be required to gallop 1000m satisfactorily in the presence of a Steward prior to again being permitted to start in a race.

YOU’RE SO VAIN – Jockey Ms. C Jokic reported that the gelding was inclined to hang in throughout. Shifted in abruptly near the 600m despite the efforts of Jockey Jokic causing tightening to a runner to its inside. Trainer’s Representative Ms. F Jokic was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s racing manners.

FLAMIN’ SID – Had to be restrained near the 600m when tightened for room by another runner which was inclined to hang in.

CHASING FELIX – Slowly away after beginning awkwardly.

TEXAS GAL – Began awkwardly. Raced wide in the early and middle stages. Was inclined to lay in down the running.

ROTHESAY MAGIC – Slowly into stride after shifting ground abruptly soon after jumping. Raced wide for the majority.

POETIC PEARL – Was inclined to hang out in the early stages.

MICK’S DREAM – Was hampered near the 100m by another runner which shifted out under riding.

On returning to scale Jockey P Cullen, the rider of MICK’S DREAM which was placed 4th, requested to view the patrol footage over the concluding stages to ascertain whether or not he had grounds to lodge an objection against 3rd placegetter REVERBERATING (Ms. N Nelson). After viewing the footage Jockey Cullen elected not to proceed and Correct Weight was declared on the semaphored numbers.

Race 3: TABLELAND HARDWARE CLASS B HANDICAP 1123m

MIRACLES APLENTY – Was fractious in the barrier. App. Ms. R Shred reported that the filly had been inclined to hang out for the majority of the event placing her at a disadvantage. Trainer Mr. A Bailey advised that he intends to implement a gear change prior to next start. Nonetheless Stewards advised Mr. Bailey that a warning would be placed on the filly’s racing manners.

AMBITIOUS DREAM – Bumped with another runner on jumping.

SNOOZE YA LOSE – Bumped with another runner on jumping. Had to be restrained off heels near the 550m.

WHILE WE CAN – Slowly into stride after bumping with another runner on jumping. Raced wide rounding the home turn.

HUNGRY HORSE – Raced wide for the majority.

Stewards inquired into an incident near the 1050m which resulted in UNDERCOVER GIRL (P Cullen) being hampered and SNOOZE YA LOSE (N Yadi) being severely checked and losing ground. After hearing submissions from both the aforementioned riders as well as Ms. S Wiseman (AMBITIOUS DREAM) and Ms. R Payne (HUNGRY HORSE) and viewing the available patrol footage it was established that HUNRY HORSE which was improving to the outside of the other runners shifted in marginally at that point whilst AMBITIOUS DREAM shifted out and away from MIRACLES APLENTY (App. Ms. R Shred) causing severe tightening to both UNDERCOVER GIRL and SNOOZE YA LOSE. As Stewards were unable to apportion blame for the incident on any individual rider no action was taken.
