QUEENSLANDRACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT MAREEBA RACE CLUB SATURDAY 3 APRIL 2021 WEATHER – OVERCAST/SHOWERYTRACK RATING – GOOD (4) RAIL – TRUE PENETROMETER – N/A OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – P. GillardStewards – Ms F. Hartford Clerk of Scales – B. Gray Judge – A. Ballard Veterinarian – Dr E. Maloney Swab Attendants – Dr E. Maloney Starter – B. Brady Race 1: BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP – 1010 Metres The start of this race was delayed due to the photo finish operator being delayed due to traffic delays enrout to the course. OUR BOY BRETT – Veered outwards shortly after the start. Laid out rounding the home turn and lost ground when being corrected. Raced wide for the majority of the race. DANNI'S RULER – Slow to begin. Over-raced in the early and middle stages. MCKENZIE WILL DO – Slow to begin. SHE BEATS THE BEST – Slow into stride. Race 2: EINASLEIGH RACE CLUB BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP – 1210 Metres DREAM I CAN – Became fractious as the start was effected and lost ground. Raced wide for the majority of the race. Race 3: CENTRAL TYRE SERVICE QTIS MAIDEN PLATE – 1210 Metres MR FU – Slow to begin. Finished tailed off. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. LIBERTY'S LUCK – Sustained a serous racing injury during the race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to ruptured it near fore suspensory ligament. Due to the extent of injury the gelding was humanely euthanized.Race 4: MAREEBA LEAGUES CLUB OPEN HANDICAP – 1500 Metres ROCCO – Slow to begin.GREYCLIFFE – Had a tendency to over-race in the early stages. Race 5:MAGIC MILLIONS/ROB KOCH MEMORIAL/ FNQ UP & COMING STAYERS BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP – 1500 Metres SWEET TASTE – At the request of its trainer underwent a veterinary examination and was found to be lame in the off front leg and was declared a late scratching at 2.13pm by order of stewards acting on veterinary advice. Trainer S. Cooper was advised he must obtain a veterinary clearance for the mare prior to it being permitted to race or trial again. INDIAN DANCER – Stewards permitted F. Edwards to ride the gelding 1.5kg over its allotted weight when no other suitable rider was available. There was an announcement made to this effect. METRO MISSILE – Slow to begin. LET'S CONQUER – Slow into stride. FOXY SECRET – Finished tailed off. A post-race veterinary examination failed to real any abnormalities. Trainer P.
