MONDAY 26 DECEMBER 2022 WEATHER – OVERCAST/RAIN TRACK RATING – GOOD (3), GOOD (4) FOLLOWING RACE 4 RAIL – TRUE OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – P. Gillard Steward – P. Lane. S. Copelin Clerk of Scales – B. Gray Judge – A. Ballard Veterinarian – Dr E. Maloney Swab Attendants – Dr E. Maloney Starter – B. Brady Race 1: RTS CONCRETING CLASS B HANDICAP – 900 Metres BRAVE MISSILE – Slow to begin. AIR FORCE ACE – Rider reported on returning to scale that her saddle shifted to the off-side approaching the 500 metres placing her at a disadvantage for the remainder of the race. Forced wider rounding the home turn. FILLY SLATER – Laid out rounding the home turn forcing AIR FORCE ACE wider. Trainer K. Allender was advised a warning would be placed on its racing manners.Lost its off-front plate during running. KID MAC – Raced wide for the majority of the race. Race 2: STJ EARTHMOVING MAIDEN PLATE – 1010 Metres KILKENNY JACK – Raced wide for the majority of the race. RIGHT ON RALPHY – Raced wide without cover for the majority of the race. Following the running of this race all remaining races were brought forward after consultation with the Mareeba Turf Club due to threating storms in and around the local area. Race 3: MAREEBA TRANSPORT OPEN HANDICAP – 1010 Metres No racing incidents. Race 4: GREG SCLIPPA QTIS BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP – 1210 Metres MY SISTER SAL – Began awkwardly and shifted out bumping FEMALE OFFICER and lost ground as a result. Over-raced in the early stages. FEMALE OFFICER – Bumped on jumping. WHISPERING TYCOON – Raced wide for the majority of the race. ALWAYS WRITTEN OFF – Raced wide for the majority of the race. BORLOTTI BEANS – Raced wide for the majority of the race.On returning to scale jockey S. Sheargold advised stewards the gelding was not comfortable on todays surface and raced ungenerously throughout the race. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. VOODOO MISS– Raced wide for the majority of the race. Race 5: MAREEBA SHEDS & GAS BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP – 1500 Metres GAIUS JULIUS – Slow into stride. Over-raced in the early stages. COOL ATTITUDE – Over-raced in the early stages.MT PETER MISS – Difficulties obtaining clear running over the concluding stages. DAY TO FAVOUR – Difficulties obtaining clear running from leaving the 400 metres untilapproaching the 50 metres. I LOVE ROCK'N'ROLL – Raced wide without cover for the majority of the race.
