Race 1: CLASS B HANDICAP – 900 Metres
 
DIRTY OR DRY – Began awkwardly. Laid in near the 300 metres crowding BOWTIE BETTY. On returning to scale apprentice E. Molloy advised stewards the gelding may have resented the off side bubble cheeker during running to which she advised connections.
 
VIENNA CRUISE – Fractious in the barriers prior to the start. Laid out in the middle stages.
 
BOWTIE BETTY – Steadied off heels near the 300 metres when crowded for room. Difficulties obtaining clear running in the early part of the home straight.  
 
DEORA – Raced wide for the majority.
 
ENUFF ROSES – Raced wide for the majority.
 
Race 2: QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 2-Y-O & Up. Set Weights – 1010 Metres
 
NORTHERN GIRL – After becoming fractious in the tie-up stalls prior to the race it underwent a veterinary examination and was declared a late scratching at 12.30pm on veterinary advice. Trainer M. Potiris was advised she must provide a veterinary clearance for the mare prior to its next race start.  
 
POCKET FUGITIVE – Shied when proceeding to the barriers dislodging rider P. Romeo. Jockey Romeo declared himself free of any injury and fulfilled his engagement. Slow to begin.
 
OLYMPIC MOTTO – Slow to begin.
 
BOHEMIAN FLYER – Shifted out under pressure brushing MISS DAURIAN near the 50 metres.
 
 MISS DAURIAN – Brushed near the 50 metres.

FLAMING ASTEROID – Raced wide in the early stages.
 
LORD PROPHET – When asked to explain its performance today rider L. Morrison stated the gelding tended to lay in throughout the race but in her opinion was comfortable in its action. Trainer T. Rowe advised stewards he was disappointed with the performance today and it is now his intention that gelding be freshened up. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.  
 
Race 3: OPEN HANDICAP – 1123 Metres
 
EVIL EYE MAC – Slow into stride.
 
LOVE ON SUNDAY – Unable to muster early speed despite the efforts of its rider.
 
SYLVESTER – Raced wide in the early stages.
 
Race 4: BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP – 1210 Metres
 
ARUBA – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start.  
 
ACCTORIES – Slow to begin.
 
FLAMING HOMER – Put its head down as the start was effected and lost considerable ground. Trainer T. Cook was advised a warning would be placed on the gelding’s barrier manners. Shifted wider to improve leaving the 800 metres.
 
Race 5: BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP – 1500 Metres

SWANKY SUE – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after being fractious in transit to the course and was cleared to start.
 
LIPEANSASS – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
