POWER PUFF – Shifted out under pressure in the home straight.
NELLYATION – When asked to explain its performance today rider L. Overall explained the filly was not comfortable on today’s surface or the tight turning track. Trainer B. Thomson agreed with jockey Overall’s assessment.

After consultation with the Mareeba Turf Club following the running of this race all races were brought forward in an effort to avoid surrounding storms and showers.
Race 3: THANK YOU DAVID METE QTIS MAIDEN PLATE – 1123 Metres
BLOOMIN' RIPPER – Fractious in the barriers prior to the start. Over-raced in the early
stages.
GO GO GIRL – Restrained off heels near the 900 metres and lost ground.
WAIT'N'SEE – Raced wide in the early stages.
Race 4: TRIED & TIRED MAREEBA TC M'MENT COMMITTEE RATINGS BAND 0 – 55
HANDICAP – 1210 Metres
DYSTOPIAN – Began awkwardly.
HEAVENLY HILLIE – Slow into stride.
LITTLE RED PEPPER – Raced wide in the early stages.
Race 5: PATRONS CUP THANKS SIBEY MM/ROB KOCH MEM/FNQ UP &
COMINGSTAYERS BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP – 1500 Metres
MISS WHITE – Slow to begin. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have a slow post-race recovery. Connections were advised a veterinary clearance would be required prior to its next race or trial.
MODERN LEGEND – Slow to begin.
LAST NOT LEAST – Raced wide in the early stages.
IT'S BEEN A TREK – When asked to explain its performance today rider F. Edwards explained the gelding was never comfortable on today’s surface which contributed to its performance today and for this reason he did not pressure the gelding over the concluding stages. Trainer representative R. Ryan agreed with jockey Edwards assessment.A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

GAELIC – Slow into stride. Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages proving difficult to ride.
