SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT
 
LADBROKES CANNON PARK - SATURDAY – 24 AUGUST 2024
 
Race 3:PICCONES FAMILY OF COMPANIES BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP – 1250 Metres
 
CONVERTOR – Trainer G. Holt subsequently advised stewards following its disappointing performance that the gelding had recovered well following the run and had pleased her in its work, she further added that in her opinion CONVERTOR was not comfortable on the days racing surface. 
 
Race 7:THE RED BERET HOTEL CAIRNS CUP – 2100 Metres 

WARP SPEED – Trainer M. Goodwin subsequently advised stewards following its disappointing performance that the gelding had recovered well following the run, he further added that in his opinion WARP SPEED had its momentum interrupted on occasions through the run and was not comfortable on the days racing surface.
 
General:
As the following runners had not raced for an extended period, they all underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and were cleared to start. Race 1, Wave The Wand, Race 2, Heartsareroman, Race 4, Toff Rocks
 
Race 1:GIRLE’S SIGN SHOP MAIDEN PLATE 3-Y-O & Up 900 Metres
 
Correct weight was delayed to allow L. Morrison, rider of 3rd placed MISSY LYN, to view the stewards patrol film to ascertain if she had grounds to lodge an objection against PELSAERT (N. Day) being declared 1st, after viewing the film she did not wish to proceed and correct weight was declared on the judges semaphored numbers.    
 
WAVE THE WAND - Slow to begin. Raced three wide without cover for the majority.
 
MISHANI BURN – Raced ungenerously near the 700 metres for a short distance.
 
PELSAERT – Raced greenly and shifted in slightly near the 400 metres crowding MISSY LYN.
 
MISSY LYN – Crowded near the 400 metres.
 
HE CAN JAJA – A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding revealed a left eye injury. Trainers T & P Rowe were advised the gelding would need a veterinary clearance prior to racing, trialling or jump-outs.
 
Race 2:RED'S JOINERY QTIS RATINGS BAND 0 - 50 HANDICAP (1) 1123 Meters
 
Correct weight was delayed allowing L. Morrison, rider of 2nd placed WONG WAY, to view the photo finish print to ascertain 1st and 2nd place. After viewing the photo print Ms Morrison was satisfied with the judge’s numbers and correct weight was declared on the judges semaphored numbers.     
 
DENIMS – Slow to begin
 
NELLYATION – Slow to begin.
 
ROCKINFELLER – Wide for the majority of the race.
 
HEARTSAREROMAN – Wide for the majority of the race.
 
Race 3:STEVEN & KATE ARNOLD QTIS 0 - 50 HANDICAP (2) 1123 Meters
 
ENTERPRISE STRIKE – Delayed the start when reluctant to proceed to the barriers, trainer J Kilroy was advised a warning would be placed on its parading manners. Jockey M. Abe was harmlessly dislodged on the way to the barriers and declared himself free of any injuries and fulfilled his engagement.
 
SWAHILI MAI – Fractious in the barriers prior to the start and began awkwardly.
 
ROSE OF ATHENS – Slow to begin.
 
BOOVEY – Raced wide in the early and middle stages.
 
Race 4:THE GRAHAM HOTEL / THE LILLYWHITE GROUP MAREEBA BRACELET BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1210 Meters
 
GDANSK– Was declared a late scratching at 3.15pm when refused to proceed to the barriers. On the announcement of
correct weight all monies invested on GDANSK were ordered to be refunded with deductions of 12 cents in the dollar
on the face value of win bets and 11 cents in the dollar on the face value of all place bets to be applicable on all
successful wagers prior to 3.15pm. Connections were advised that the gelding must trial to the satisfaction of stewards
prior to being permitted to race again.
 
WITNESS ATTACK – Slow to Begin.
 
TOFF ROCKS – Slow into Stride.
 
BOOGIE WONDERLAND – Raced wide in from the middle stages.
 
ALWAYS WRITTEN OFF – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
YELLOWSTONE BETH – Laid out for the majority of the race.
 
OVOID – A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding revealed it to be lame in both front legs. Trainers T & P Rowe were advised the gelding would need a veterinary certificate of fitness prior to racing, trialling or jump-outs.
 
Race 5:WAYNE LAVERTY - QUALITY SHEDS BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1500 Meters
 
RIVALON – Slow into stride.
 
SPONTANEOUS CHOICE – Over raced early stages and raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
WISHNOWSKY – Raced wide in the middle stages.
 
ANOTHER JACK – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
Race 6:PUMPING IRRIGATION & MACHINERY SERVICES (PIMS) MAREEBA CUP BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 2000 Meters
 
SECRET LOCATION – Raced three wide with cover for the majority of the race.
