Race 1: Welcome Back To The Races 2017 QTIS Maiden Plate 900 metres: ROCKET ELEMENT which was returning after a prolonged absence from racing was inspected by the veterinarian and passed fit to start. MESSINES ROSE – Slowly into stride. Had to be restrained near the 600m when racing tight to the inside of another runner which was hanging in. THANK YOU – Was inconvenienced near the 600m by another runner which was hanging in. MISHANI TRADER – Hung in for some distance passing the 600m. Was inclined to lay in under pressure down the running. Race 2: Sponsorship Packages Now Available Ratings Band 0-50 Handicap 900 metres: SPLASH OUT – Began awkwardly. SNITZEL ROSE – Reared as the barriers opened and lost ground as a result. LASTING IMAGE – Slowly into stride. Raced wide for the majority. STAGE DANCER – Resented the kickback in running. Race 3: Good Luck Rodeo Queen Quest Entrant Caitlynd Gardener Benchmark 65 Handicap 900 metres: TRESSLES – Slowly away. Jockey J Esser was reprimanded under the provisions of AR137A for excessive use of the whip. Race 4: Mount Isa Mining Supplies Fashions Of The Field Benchmark 55 Handicap 1100 metres: CARRY TO GOLD – Slowly away. BEST A MAN CAN GET – Jumped out abruptly at the start. Jockey J Esser when questioned in relation to his riding of the gelding in the home straight advised that he believed his best option was to ride hands and heels over the concluding stages and keep the horse balanced as he was of the opinion that the gelding would not have responded any better had he used the whip. Jockey Esser’s explanation was noted. I’M DESPERATE TOO – Inconvenienced at the start by another runner which jumped out abruptly. LOGAN’S RUN – Resented the kickback throughout. Race 5: Many Happy Returns Leanne Ryder Open Handicap 1000 metres: NITE ROCKER – Resented the kickback in the middle stages. Jockey T Tincknell was reprimanded under the provisions of AR137A for excessive use of the whip. WILL’S CHOICE – Lost both front plates in running.
