GENERAL - The commencement of the race meeting was delayed until 1.25pm due to the late arrival of the on-course Paramedics.
 
Race 1: STEEJO PRESS CLASS B HANDICAP 1200m
 
ECHELON ROSE – Jumped outwards at the start hampering other runners.
 
DENLAGO – Fractious in the barriers. Jumped inwards abruptly at the start hampering other runners. Raced wide for the majority. 
 
DROPPER ROCKET – Hampered when tightened between runners on jumping.
 
SATAN DA - Hampered when tightened between runners on jumping.
 
NUNCIUS - Hampered when tightened between runners on jumping.
 
AL MAH ROCKET - Hampered when tightened between runners on jumping. Raced wide for the majority.
 
Race 2: QCCU BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1200m
 
GOING GREY – Slowly into stride after bumping with another runner on jumping. Raced wide rounding the 600m turn. 
 
ADMIRAL RUFF - Bumped with another runner on jumping.
 
EXPAT ENVY - Raced wide rounding the 600m turn.
 
I’M DESPERATE TOO – Raced wide rounding the home turn.
 
Race 3: GET KEEN FOR MT ISA CUP MAIDEN PLATE 2YO & UP 1100m
 
LEAPIN’ LENA - Jumped outwards at the start. 
 
LAGER – Slowly into stride after beginning awkwardly. Raced wide rounding the 600m turn. Jockey S McGovern was reprimanded under the provisions of AR 137A(5)(a)(ii) for excessive use of the whip prior to the 100m (on 6 occasions).
 
EYNHALLOW – Inconvenienced when tightened between runners on jumping. 
 
VALPONS (NZ) - Raced wide rounding 600m turn.
 
Race 4: BECOME A MEMBER OF MIRC QTIS BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1000m 
 
CRACK A COLDIE - Raced wide for the majority.
 
NATURAL CONNECTION - Raced wide for the majority.
 
HIDONAL – Slowly into stride.
 
EARLY OPENER – Finished tailed off after racing wide for the majority. Trainer Mr. J Morris advised Stewards that the gelding, which was resuming from a lengthy spell and was having its first start in the region would, in his opinion, be better suited over distances longer than that of today’s race. 
 
Race 5: DO IT FOR DOLLY DAY FAST APPROACHING RATINGS BAND 0-60 HANDICAP 1450m
 
SPLIT THE ATOM - Slowly away losing considerable ground. Raced wide rounding the 1200m turn.  Rider when interviewed advised gelding was reluctant to stretch out in the early stages. 
 
WICKED INVESTMENT - Slowly away.  
 
Race 6: 2018 OUTBACK RACING SHOWCASE OPEN PLATE – HEAT 1450m 
 
DIURNAL TIGER - Slow into stride.
 
WULFWIN - Travelled wide in the early stages of the race.
