Jones Supplementary Report: Stewards questioned trainer S. Gabriel–Royes into the bonafides of THE GIRLS IN PARIS, which was competing in race 6 on todays program. Ms Garbriel-Royes explained that after acquiring the horse and racing it Richmond 16/06/2018, she had discovered shoeing issues that in her opinion was not beneficial the welfare of the animal and as such had made arrangements for THE GIRLS IN PARIS to be treated by a professional blacksmith in Mount Isa as this service was not available in Richmond. The horse was transported to Mount Isa following its start at Richmond and was to be collected at the McKinlay Race Meeting Saturday 23/06/2018 which was subsequently abandoned. She further added that the horse had been under her instructions whilst stabled with a licensed person in Mount Isa and was returning back to her stables in Richmond following today’s race meeting. Whilst Stewards noted Ms Garbriel-Royes explanation, she was nonetheless advised of her obligations under LR41 and that she must advise Stewards of any changes in relation to this rule immediately in future. Trainer D. Sanders pleaded guilty to a charge under LR41 in that she permitted an unlicensed person to handle her runners at today’s meeting. Ms Sanders was fined the sum of $200. Race 1: AKUBRA PINS OF HOPE Class B Handicap – 1450M HIDONAL – Slow into stride. Raced wide most of the way. VALPONS – Bumped with another runner shortly after the start. RODEO DESTINY – Bumped by another runner shortly after the start. DENLAGO – Raced wide for the majority of the race. Race 2: DOLLY'S DREAM OPEN Handicap – 1450M CHESTNUT ROAD – Raced wide for the majority of the race. WULFWIN – Raced wide rounding the 1200m turn. CHOCOLATE BOLT – Raced wide rounding the 1200m turn. YOUR WAY OR MINE – Raced wide rounding the 1200m and home turn. .Race 3: SPEAK UP QTIS Maiden Plate – 1000M NAUGTHY BUT NICE – Slow into stride and raced wide for the majority of the race. BIDAFLARE – Raced for the majority of the race. EYNHALLOW – Raced wide rounding the home turn. Race 4: AMY 'DOLLY' EVERETT MEMORIAL Ratings Band 0 - 60 Handicap – 1000M CODE ONE – Was declared a late scratching by order of the order of Stewards when it refused to load into the barriers. Trainer S. Royes was advised the gelding must complete a series of barrier certificates (4) to the satisfaction of Stewards before being permitted to race again. In considering this matter Stewards took into account its poor record in regards its barrier manners. TIDAL RIP – Was declared a late scratching by order of Stewards acting on veterinary advice after it became very fractious and sustained injuries after being loaded into the barrier certificates. Trainer D. Burgess was advised a veterinary certificate of fitness is required before the gelding completes 2 further barrier certificates before being permitted to race again. BELIEVE IT OR NOT – Was declared a late scratching by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice after it broke through the front of the barrier, dislodging its rider and then galloping a considerable distance before being captured. Stewards deemed this incident as a result of other runners being fractious in the barriers. Prior to the declaration of correct weight, Stewards ordered that all monies invested on CODE ONE, TIDAL RIP and BELIEVE IT OR NOT, to be refunded and all successful bets for the win and place be paid a total cumulative deduction of Twenty-nine cents in the dollar on the face value of the tickets. DREAMWARD BOUND – Was fractious in the barriers and became momentarily cast. After being examined by the veterinary surgeon the gelding was cleared to start. EQUISTAR – Raced wide rounding the 600m turn. CRACK A COLDIE – Raced wide rounding the 600m turn. ALPHA STRYKE – Raced wide rounding the home turn. CRAIGLEA ODYSSEY – Raced wide rounding the home turn.Race 5: BE THE CHANGE BenchMark 70 Handicap – 1200M DAMGOODCHOICE – Raced wide rounding the home turn.
