QUEENSLAND RACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT.MOUNT ISA RACE CLUB – Saturday, 2nd March, 2019. WEATHER – FINE RAIL – True TRACK – Sand OFFICIALSChairman of Stewards – R.C.SmithStewards – P. Smith Race 1: STEEJO PRESS QTIS MAIDEN PLATE. - 900M STARKIN was a late scratching at 2.20pm when unable to be loaded into barriers. Trainer Gabriel-Royes was advised the gelding must successfully complete a barrier jump-out prior to its next start. Before the declaration of correct weight Stewards declared that all monies invested on STARKIN were to be refunded and further that all winning bets for the win be paid less16 cents in the dollar on the face value of the ticket and all winning place bets for the place be paid less 18 cents in the dollar on the face value of the ticket. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal abnormality. GROUP SESSION – Proved difficult to load into the barriers and was slow to begin. Raced wide most of the way. Trainer T. Parry was advised that a warning would be placed on the geldings barrier manners. FLOSSY – Slow into stride. BRIDES DESIRE – Near the 600m bucked and dislodged rider K. Ballard who was treated on course by QAS and conveyed to the Mount Isa Hospital for further observation. K. Ballard was advised he is required to produce a medical certificate of fitness prior to riding again. Trainer T. Parry was advised that BRIDES DESIRE must successfully complete a barrier jump-out prior to starting again. Inquiry into incident commenced and adjourned to a later date. POWER ‘N’ DESIGN – Raced wide rounding the home turn. Race 2: CAVA HYDRAULICS CLASS B HANDICAP - 900M LEICA CELEBRE – Slow to begin, resented kickback and raced ungenerously in back straight. Taken wider from 600m and finished the race off well. HEREBANEEK – Raced wide rounding the home turn. WATTO’S JET – Raced wide rounding the home turn. NITRO CITY - Raced wide rounding the home turn. Race 3: TREVOR MORRIS BUILDERS RATING BAND 0 -65 HANDICAP - 900M TEMPESTA ROSSA – Was fractious in the barriers prior to the start being effected and jumped awkwardly. SUGAR RAY RED – Raced wide rounding the 600m turn. GOING GREY – Slow into stride and raced wide all the way. Race 4: COLONIAL SUPERMARKET CLASS 2 PLATE – 1000M METAZOA was a late scratching at 2pm when found to be lame. Scratched by order of Stewards acting on veterinary advice prior to betting commencing. Trainer S. Seymour, was advised he must provide a veterinary certificate of fitness prior to the gelding being permitted to race again. TALLYMAN – Scratched at barriers at 4.25pm by order of Stewards acting on veterinary advice. Trainer T. Parry advised she is required to produce a veterinary certificate before the gelding can again start in a race. Before the declaration of correct weight Stewards declared that all monies invested on the gelding were to be refunded and further that all winning bets for the win be paid less 8 cents in the dollar on the face value of the ticket. THE BIG SHIELA – Proved very difficult to load. Trainer S. Royes was advised a warning would be placed on its barrier manner. Blundered on jumping. Race 5: BOOK A TABLE ST PATS RACES OPEN PLATE – 1000M MY CRIMSON LAD – Slow into stride and raced wide all the way. CARRY ME – Passed a prerace veterinary examination. Retired from race near 800m. A veterinary inspection revealed injury to both hind legs. Trainer S. Gabriel Royes advised a veterinary certificate of fitness for the gelding must be provided before the gelding can race again. Trainer advised she intends to retire the gelding immediately. ALBA GU BRATH – Raced wide rounding 600m and home turns. STEWARDS RACE DAY SUMMARY Summary of action concerning licenseesJockey: K.
