Trainer D. Finter explained the gelding had received a minor injury during in the week and he was not comfortable with its progress leading into today’s race being its first start back from a spell and for the welfare of the horse he had decided to scratch the it from today’s event. Stewards noted his explanation. Stewards inquired into the reasons jockey R. McMahon had failed to arrive on course and fulfil his commitments at the Emerald Jockey Club on – Saturday 16th February 2019. After hearing all of the evidence R. McMahon pleaded guilty to a charge under AR127(1) in that he did fail to arrive on course and fulfil his riding engagements on that day and was fined the sum of $200.00. In considering penalty, Stewards took into account Mr McMahons guilty plea and personal circumstances. Race 1 – Cava Hydraulics Benchmark 50 H’Cap – 1450m Echelon Rose – Slow to begin. Tallyman – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Raced wide in the early and middle stages of the race. Two Of A Kind – Raced wide for the majority of the race. Race 2 – Perkins Bookmaking Class 4 Plate – 1000m Red Facets – Slow to begin. Silent Statue – Raced wide for the majority of the race. Royal Script – Raced wide for the majority of the race. Race 3 – Comerford Bookmaking Open H’Cap – 1000m Wicked Wiki – Raced wide for the majority of the race.Clateau – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
