QUEENSLAND RACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT MOUNT ISA RACE CLUB – SATURDAY 4th JULY,2020WEATHER – FINE TRACK – SAND (GOOD)OFFICIALSChairman of Stewards – R. Cummings Race 1: QTIS RATINGS BAND 0 – 50 Handicap 1450m ECHELON ROSE – Slow to go and raced wide for the majority. AUNTY SNOW – Was very slow to muster pace and lost considerable ground. Rider on being interviewed advised the filly was having its first start on the sand track and in the early stages resented the kickback. AH MAH ROCKET – Over-raced passing the 1200m. CAPTAINS PICKS – Raced wide most of the way. FIRE RANGER - Raced wide rounding the 600m turn. HIDDEN CHIEF – Rider M Gray was questioned in relation to the disappointing performance. He advised the gelding had over-raced when contesting the lead in the middle stages of the race and had tired from the 500 metres. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any irregularities. Race 2: BENCHMARK 69 Handicap 1450m TRY ‘N’ RUN A MUCK – Rider J Esser on being interviewed stated the gelding had struggled under its heavy impost and this had been a major contributing factor to today’s disappointing performance. KAPSET – Rider D Ballard advised the gelding jumped well and travelled well until near the 600 metres and from that point onwards failed to run on. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any irregularities. MANDALONG PASS - Rider J. Babarovich was issued with a severe reprimand in relation to use of his whip prior to the 100m. (AR 132(7)(a)(ii). Race 3: BENCHMARK 60 Handicap 1000mDIXIE ROUGE – Fractious in mounting yard and reluctant to proceed to the start. READY ZAIM FIRE – Jumped outwards and bumped another runner. Raced wide rounding 600m turn. HOLOGRAM – Raced wide most of the way. ANSINNA - Raced wide most of the way. Race 4: OPEN QUALITY Handicap 1100m SAFDIE – Bumped another runner of jumping. TANGO RAIN – Bumped by another runner on jumping. Race 5: MAIDEN Plate 1200m SHOW SOME HEART – Jumped sharply outwards at start making contact with another runner. Was then buffeted between runners, losing ground. Raced wide rounding 600m turn and rider S Mossman advised filly was resenting the kickback. MARCHELLINE – Bumped by another runner on jumping. MATCHFOX – Raced greenly in the early stages. Race 6: CLASS B Handicap 1200m CHRISTMAS CREEK - Jumped sharply outwards at the start making heavy contact with DURANT which in turn was taken out onto MACKELLAR’S VOICE and UNDER RESTRAINT. DURANT – Heavily bumped by another runner on jumping and was taken out onto other runners. MACKELLAR’S VOICE – Hampered by another runner at the start. UNDER RESTRAINT - Hampered by another runner at the start. Raced wide rounding the home turn. BACCHUR - Raced wide rounding the home turn. Race 7: CLASS B Handicap 1200m REASON FOR TREASON – Knuckled badly on jumping losing considerable ground and raced wide all the way. NITRO CITY – Began awkwardly. ALOTAFOX - Raced wide all the way.
