Race 1: STEEJO PRESS QTIS Maiden Plate (1000 m)
 
I WANT YOUR LOVE-Slow to begin .J Esser advised that the gelding was having his first start in the area  on a sand surface and, in his opinion failed to stretch out in the early and middle stages due to the kickback in running.
 
BE PRESENT-Slow to begin.
 
BLACK PRINCESS- Bumped with another runner on jumping. Wide home turn.
 
VANDAR LOOM-Bumped with another runner on jumping
 
LOVE`SBEST HOPE-On returning to scales J Felix reported the mare resented the kickback in running and failed to stretch out in the early stages.

Race 3: APG GLASS Class B Handicap (1450 m)
 
DEADLY DAY-On returning to the mounting yard was found to have bled from both nostrils in running. This being the first such occasion Trainer D Finter was advised that the gelding would, under the provisions of AR79, incur the mandatory 3 month ban from racing and be required to gallop 1000m to the satisfaction of  Stewards before again being permitted to race again.
 
 
 
Race 4: COUNTRY CUPS CHALLENGE QUALIFIER/CAVA GROUP SPRING CUP Open Handicap (1450 m)
 
 
CHARLIE CAT-Slow into stride.
 
LOUD ENOUGH-Raced wide home turn.
 
MASKING-Raced wide in the early and middle stages.
 
DEADLY CHOICES-Raced wide for the majority.
 
 
 
Race 5: TREVOR MORRIS BUILDERS LORD DERBY STAKES Class 3 Plate (1200 m)
 
 
SYD`S COIN- Stood flat footed loosing considerable ground. Trainer G Tipping was advised a warning would be placed on the geldings barrier and racing manners.
 
WALLACH- Slow to begin. Momentarily tightened near the 100m.
 
NITRO CITY-Raced wide majority. Shifted in near the 100m tightening another runner
 
CAPTAIN`S PICK-Raced wide majority
 
KING LANDON-Raced wide majority.
 
FLOSSY TOP-Raced wide early stages.
 
SUCH A DRAMA QUEEN- Jockey K Ballard was reprimanded under the provisions of AR132(5) in that he did use his whip in an excessive manner (16 times) throughout the event.
 
BACCHUR- Jockey J Babarovich was reprimanded under the provisions of AR132(5) in that he did use his whip in an excessive manner (16 times) throughout the event.
 
 
Declaration of correct weight was delayed when K Ballard, rider of 2nd placed getter SUCH A DRAMA QUEEN, lodged an objection against 1st place getter BACCHUR (J Babarovich) alleging interference over the final 250m, after hearing submissions from the riders and connections of the two runners ,viewing the patrol footage and considering the matter further Stewards could not be comfortably satisfied that there was significant enough interference to uphold the objection and as such dismissed the protest Subsequently correct weight was declared on the Judges semaphored numbers.
