QUEENSLAND RACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT MOUNT ISA RACE CLUB SATURDAY 13th MARCH 2021 WEATHER – FINE TRACK – SAND RAIL – IN TRUE POSITION OFFICIALSStewards - P Lane, P WarrenClerk of Scales – StewardsJudges – L Finlay, L WinksVeterinarian – K StrettonStarter – M CummingsGENERAL Due to predicted sultry weather conditions, this race meeting was conducted under the provisions of the Queensland Racing Integrity Commission Caring for Racing Animals in Extreme Heat Policy. Race 1. CLASS B HANDICAP 1000m MACKELLAR’S VOICE – Fractious in the barrier. Buffeted between runners after beginning awkwardly. SHOW SOME HEART - Raced wide in the early and middle stages. ROCK’N BLITZ – Raced wide for the majority. FULL OF SPIRIT – Jockey K Ballard advised the gelding travelled ungenerously throughout. Race 2. QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 1000m ARCING HARD – Began awkwardly. DUNTROON MAN – Unable to muster pace in the early and middle stages before making up some ground in the home straight. LOVE’S BEST HOPE – Raced wide in the early and middle stages. DACXI BUBBLES - Raced wide for the majority. Race 3. RATINGS BAND 0-65 HANDICAP 1000m WORLD OF PAIN – Stewards permitted Jockey D Ballard to ride the gelding 0.5kg over its allocated weight. Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages. Raced wide for the majority. ANSINNA - Raced wide in the early and middle stages. BACCHUR - Raced wide for the majority. MYOLA MILLY – Trailed the field throughout making up some ground over the concluding stages. Jockey J Felix advised the mare was never comfortable on the sand surface. RAPTOR – Raced wide throughout. Jockey T Brummell pleaded guilty to excessive whip use under the provisions of AR132(5) in that he used his whip a total of 18 times in running. Jockey Brummell’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 11 days to commence March 21, 2021 up to and including March 31, 2021. Race 4. OPEN PLATE 1100m GALEA WARRIOR – Began awkwardly. MR TINDALL – Inconvenienced when awkwardly placed to the inside of runners for some distance passing the 600m. ROCK TSAR – Raced wide for the majority. FANDRAL – After racing wide for the majority was unable to improve from the 200m to the 100m due to being awkwardly placed between runners. Jockey T Brummell was reminded of his obligation to ride his mount out to the end of the race. Race 5. BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1200m BOLD SAM – Bumped with another runner on jumping. NOBODY BETTER – Slowly into stride after bumping with another runner on jumping. AMERICAN SUMMER – Raced wide for the majority.
