QUEENSLANDRACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT MOUNT ISA RACE CLUB MOUNT ISA – SATURDAY 10TH JULY 2021 WEATHER – Fine TRACK RATING – Dirt Heavy RAIL – In true position OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – D LaneStewards – C WarrenClerk of Scales – StewardsJudges – L Finlay, L WinksVeterinarian – K StrettonStarter – C Moore Race 1: Benchmark 55 Handicap 1400 metres SOVIET – Stood flat footed. Trainer K Krogh was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s barrier manners. BANKSY STRIKES – Began awkwardly. IMMUTABLE – Raced ungenerously momentarily when approaching the 1000m. HOLOGRAM – Raced wide throughout. RERUN – Raced wide rounding the home turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have a poor post-race recovery. Race 2: Open Handicap 1450 metres SPANISH HURRICANE – Fractious in the barrier. Raced wide for the majority. BUON NATALE – Approaching the 1300m shifted out bumping with GRAND SYMPHONY. GRAND SYMPHONY – Approaching the 1300m shifted in bumping with BUON NATALE. KAPSET – Raced wide rounding the home turn. Race 3: Class 3 Plate 1000 metres CRYSTAL HELMET – Began awkwardly. Approaching the 900m was bumped by CACTOBLASTIS. CACTOBLASTIS – Approaching the 900m shifted in bumping with CRYSTAL HELMET. IQELA – Slowly away. ARCING HARD – Dwelt in the barriers. Raced wide throughout. CHRISTMAS CREEK – Momentarily crowded passing the 400m. COME ALIVE – Raced wide throughout. On returning to the mounting yard the mare was found to have bled from both nostrils during the running. As this was the second occurrence, Stewards acting under the provisions of AR79 advised trainer T Parry that the mare would receive a lifetime ban from racing in Australia. Race 4: Benchmark 70 Handicap 1000 metres SNIPPY STRATEGIC – Fractious in the barrier. WICKED WIKI – Fractious in the barrier. MR TINDALL – Began awkwardly. SAFDIE – Shifted out on jumping tightening ANSINNA. ANSINNA – Tightened shortly after jumping when SAFDIE shifted out. Jockey J Hoopert reported that the gelding was inclined to lay out for the majority of the race and that this was a result of the saddle shifting to the offside after having to take hold soon after the start. Race 5: Maiden Plate 2YO and up set weights 1100 metres EL RANCHOS (NZ) – Began awkwardly. TANK ATTACK – Shifted out on jumping bumping with SGURR MOR. Approaching the 100m was bumped by CRAZY SUSPECT which was shifting in under pressure. SGURR MOR – Was bumped shortly after jumping when TANK ATTACK shifted out. LOVE’S BEST HOPE – Shifted in under pressure down the running. CRAZY SUSPECT – Shifted in under pressure down the running bumping with TANK ATTACK. Race 6: Class B Handicap 1200 metres DUNTROON MAN – Stood flat footed as the start was effected. Trainer Miss S Royes was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s barrier manners. MESMER – Approaching the 700m Shifted out when not fully clear of BOSS’S DAUGHTER resulting in that runner shifting out and away from MESMER and contacting ZOUNATE. Jockey R McMahon was severely reprimanded under provisions of AR131(a). BOSS’S DAUGHTER – Compounded over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
