GENERAL
The following horses, all of which raced on Saturday August 7th, underwent a Veterinary inspection and were passed fit to start at today’s race meeting:
ALOTAFOX, TICKET KEEPER, ROCKETHEAD, ARFA CROWN, BANKSY STRIKES, SOVIET, MATCHFOX, WOTS WONG, HAN DYNASTY, AMERICAN GENIUS, TRY ‘N’ RUN A MUCK, ARCING HARD, CRYSTAL HELMET.

Race 1. GET YOUR ELECTRICAL SUPPLIES @ CNW RATINGS BAND 0-55 HANDICAP 1200m
 
NO CRYSTAL BALL – Slowly away. Hung out in running. Performed below market expectations. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Jockey R McMahon advised the gelding, which was resuming after not having raced for 3 months, is in his opinion better suited over shorter distances than that of today’s event. Trainer R Burow concurred with Jockey McMahon’s assessment.
 
ARFA CROWN – Slowly Into stride. Raced wide for the majority. Jockey K Ballard dropped his offside rein soon after straightening, placing him at a disadvantage for the majority of the home straight.
 
TICKET KEEPER – Raced wide for the majority.
 
ALOTAFOX – Raced wide for the majority. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed a poor recovery rate.
 
 Jockey T Brummell pleaded guilty to a charge under the provisions of AR132(5) in that he used his whip on his mount ROCKETHEAD a total of 18 times in running. This being Jockey Brummell’s 4th breach of the rule, his licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 14 days to commence August 22, 2021 up to and including September 4, 2021. Jockey Brummell was advised of his right of appeal by way of Internal Review.
 
Race 2. COME SEE THE CREW @ CNW RAINGS BAND 0-60 HANDICAP 1450m
 
SOVIET – Slowly away. Raced wide for the majority.
 
THE DECKERAIDER – Slowly into stride.
 
RICH PRINCESS – Raced wide in the early and middle stages.
 
DUNNERS – Raced wide for the majority. Jockey R McMahon advised the gelding, which was racing for the 1st time on a sand surface was never comfortable at any stage in running, and, in his opinion, would be better suited over shorter distances at this stage of its preparation.
 
Race 3. THE CNW MAILMAN EXPRESS QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 1000m
 
Trainer J Bawden was fined the sum of $100 under the provisions of AR106 after presenting the gelding MATCHFOX to race without the tongue tie.
 
COSTA ROYALE – Inconvenienced when awkwardly placed in restricted room passing the 500m.
 
HIBIYA (NZ) – Trainer J Morris was fined the sum of $200 under the provisions of AR106 after presenting the gelding to race with an incorrect saddlecloth number. Raced ungenerously in the early and middle stages, until shifting wider approaching the 500m to avoid the kickback in running.
 
GRANMA – Hung in in the middle stages. Raced wide rounding the home turn.
 
SGURR MOR – Raced wide for the majority.
 
TANK ATTACK – Raced wide for the majority.
 
CRAZY SUSPECT – Raced wide for the majority.
 
TORA SUMI – Raced wide for the majority.

Race 4. THE CNW CLASS 1 HANDICAP 1000m
 
SHIVKANI – Slowly away after beginning very awkwardly.
 
ZOUNATE – Began awkwardly.
 
WOTS WONG – Raced ungenerously in the early and middle stages. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed a trace of non- trauma related blood in the left nostril. Trainer J Bawden was advised that, under the provisions of AR79(8), the gelding is required to gallop 1000m satisfactorily in the presence of a Steward prior to again being permitted to start in a race.
 
GRINZINGER BREW (NZ) – Raced wide for the majority.
 
DOLLADREAM – Raced wide for the majority.
 
SCARPA – Raced wide for the majority.
 
ALL ABOUT ME – Raced wide for the majority. App K Swaffer reported the mare was inclined to lay in throughout.
 
Race 5. THE CNW COPPERMART OPEN PLATE 1000m
 
CRAIGLEA ALTONA – Raced ungenerously in the early stages prior to shifting wider near the 500m in order to avoid the kickback in running.
 
TANGO RAIN – The gelding, which was resuming after a 6 week break from racing following a southern campaign, performed below market expectations. Jockey R McMahon advised the gelding, which raced wide for the majority had felt flat today. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer J Morris, who was at a loss to explain the disappointing effort, undertook to report to Stewards should anything which may have had a bearing on today’s performance become apparent in coming days.
 
SAFDIE – Raced ungenerously in the middle stages. Raced wide for the majority.
 
MISSED OUT – Raced wide for the majority.
 
MR TINDALL – Raced wide for the majority.
 
App O Kendal pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provisions of AR131(a) in that passing the 400m she permitted her mount AMERICAN GENIUS to shift in under riding, tightening the running of MR TINDALL (N Yadi) which was taken inwards onto the running of MISSED OUT (D Ballard) resulting in that runner having to be checked and losing its position. TANGO RAIN (R McMahon) which was racing to the inside of MISSED OUT was also inconvenienced in this incident. App Kendal’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 8 days to commence August 18, 2021 up to and including August 25, 2021. App Kendal was advised of her right of appeal by way of Internal Review.
 
Race 6. THE CNW OPEN HANDICAP 1450m
 
Trainer S Royes was fined the sum of $100 under the provisions of AR106 after presenting the gelding KAPSET to race without the tongue tie.
 
WARRUMBUNGLE – Commenced to lose ground soon after jumping when racing ungenerously due to the kickback in running.  Shifted wider passing the 1100m and raced wide from that point before finishing off well.
 
DUKES COUNTY – Shifted out marginally to avoid heels near the 650m, bumping with a runner to its outside. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed an abrasion to the near fore fetlock.
 
OKANAGAN MISS – Was inconvenienced near the 650m when awkwardly placed in restricted room between runners. Raced wide for the majority.
 
TRY ‘N’ RUN A MUCK – Shifted in near the 650m inconveniencing a runner to its inside. Jockey N Yadi, who reported that his saddle had shifted marginally to the nearside in running, was nonetheless severely reprimanded for careless riding under the provisions of AR131(a).
 
GRAND SYMPHONY – Raced wide for the majority.
 
Race 7. CNW ELECTRICAL WHOLESALERS CLASS 6 PLATE 1200m
 
MAGIC TOWN – Slowly into stride. Inconvenienced when crowded by another runner rounding the home turn. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
BOLD SAM – Slowly into stride. Shifted in marginally rounding the home turn, crowding a runner to its inside. Jockey J Babarovich was advised to exercise more care.
 
FA FA – Had to be restrained when awkwardly placed in restricted room between runners passing the 1100m and again near the 900m. Raced wide for the majority.
 
ARCING HARD – Shifted out near the 1100m, and inconvenienced a runner to its outside, after improving onto the heels of another runner. Shifted out marginally near the 900m placing a runner to its outside in restricted room. Jockey N Yadi was advised to exercise more care.
 
ANCIENT ECHOES – Was inclined to lay in in the early stages, despite the efforts of App O Kendal, inconveniencing a runner to its inside.
 
DANSK HAVN – Shifted wider passing the 600m in order to avoid the kickback in running.
 
CRYSTAL HELMET – App K Swaffer reported the gelding was inclined to lay in throughout.
 
CHRISTMAS CREEK – Raced wide for the majority.
 
LEVEL EIGHT – Raced wide for the majority.
