QUEENSLANDRACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT MOUNT ISA RACE CLUB MOUNT ISA – TUESDAY 2nd NOVEMBER 2021 WEATHER – Fine/Overcast TRACK RATING – Sand RAIL – True OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – C WarrenClerk of Scales – StewardsJudge – L WinksVeterinarian – Dr A SteelSwab Attendants – Dr A SteelStarter – C Moore Race 1: CLASS B HANDICAP 1000m The start of the event was significantly delayed when the Veterinary Surgeon was delayed arriving on course. TANK ATTACK- Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to start. Bumped by another runner on jumping and was carried in bumping with a further runner. Commenced to tire from the 800m and finished tailed off. Raced wide for the majority. PURE RUBICK- The start of the race was further delayed when the gelding underwent a pre-race veterinary inspection at the barriers and was found to be lame in the near foreleg and was subsequently declared a late scratching at 12:25pm. All monies invested on the gelding were ordered to be refunded. Deductions applicable to bets placed on the winner and placegetters prior to 12:55pm are as follows: 5 cents in the dollar for the win7 cents in the dollar for the place Trainer T Parry was advised the gelding would require a veterinary certificate of fitness before being permitted to race again. SIZZLING TOUCH- Bumped with another runner on jumping. LIVELY LASS- Bumped with another runner on jumping. Race 2: OPEN QTIS HANDICAP 1200m TOO HOT TO HOLD- After beginning on terms with the field was unable to muster the pace to maintain its position and assumed a trailing position throughout. CRAIGLEA ALTONA- Raced wide for the majority. LEVEL EIGHT- Raced wide for the majority. On returning to the mounting yard was found to have lost a near side front plate in running. Race 3: CLASS B HANDICAP 1450m OR ELSE- Proved difficult to load. Trainer T Parry was advised a warning would be placed on the geldings racing manners. Buffeted between runners on jumping and lost ground as a result. ZOUNATE- Bumped with another runner on jumping. DEEP SEEDED (FR)- Shifted in on jumping bumping with another runner. HILLANDALE (NZ)- Trailed the field throughout and finished tailed off. Raced wide for the majority. DALBERGIA- Raced wide for the majority. Race 4: OPEN HANDICAP 1450m NIGHT ATTIRE- Raced wide for the majority. Placed under pressure from the 600m but failed to respond and consequently lost ground. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have sustained a minor hoof injury in running. KAPSET- Raced wide for the majority. Race 5: MAIDEN PLATE 1000m The Start of the race was significantly delayed when the front barrier gates opened and SUNNY EKCELS (R McMahon) galloped riderless for an extended period before being re-captured. The gelding was subsequently declared a late scratching at 2:47pm. All monies invested on the gelding were ordered to be refunded. Deductions applicable to bets placed on the winner and placegetters prior to 2:47pm are as follows: 7 cents in the dollar for the win5 cents in the dollar for the place As the cause of the front barrier gates opening unexpectedly was deemed to be an equipment malfunction no further action was taken. LATIN DAYZ- As the front barrier gates had opened unexpectedly and the gelding had gone a short distance before being restrained by its rider it subsequently underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to start. Race 6: QTIS CLASS 2 HANDICAP 1000m Due to storm activity in the area start times for Races 6 and 7 were brought forward. Patrons were made aware by way of oncourse announcement. No Racing incidents. Race 7: CLASS 3 Plate 1200m No Racing incidents.
