Race 1: WELCOME ALL NEW TEACHERS & NURSES Class B Handicap 900 metres WOTS WONG – Shifted out on jumping bumping with OR ELSE. OR ELSE – Shifted in on jumping bumping with WOTS WONG. When questioned into the run of OR ELSE, Jockey G Walters advised that the gelding did not respond to his riding and that in his opinion is better suited to racing over further distances. Jockey Walters also advised that in his opinion OR ELSE would derive a significant benefit from today’s outing. WHITS END – Shifted out on jumping inconveniencing READY MISTER MUSIC. READY MISTER MUSIC – Slow into stride. Raced wide for the majority. WATCHLIST (NZ) – Raced wide for the majority. Inclined to lay out down the running. DEEP SEEDED (FR) – Jockey J Babarovich became dislodged passing the 400m. Jockey Babarovich was stood down from his remaining engagements by QAS Officers and transported to Mount Isa Hospital for monitoring. Upon inspecting Jockey Babarovich’s saddle it was ascertained that the buckle on the leather strap of his offside stirrup iron had snapped. Stewards intend to speak with Jockey Babarovich in relation to the incident and confirm any other possible contributing factors. Stewards will advise Jockey Babarovich that he will require a medical certificate of fitness and to pass a cognitive assessment prior to commencing race riding. Race 2: BOOK YOUR ST PATS TICKETS NOW QTIS Maiden Plate 900 metres MISHANI DUDE – Fractious in the barrier. Knuckled on jumping and bumped with WORDS UNSPOKEN shortly after. WORDS UNSPOKEN – Bumped with MISHANI DUDE soon after jumping. ISIS TURBO – Raced wide for the majority. THE APPOINTED TIME – Raced wide for the majority. Race 3: HOLD YOUR FUNCTIONS AT MT ISA RACE CLUB Ratings Band 0 – 65 Handicap 900 metres GLOBAL ROCKET – Underwent a prerace veterinary examination which revealed no abnormalities. FLASH HOMBRE – Fractious in the barrier. Shifted out throwing its head in the air soon after jumping inconveniencing COSTA ROYALE. COSTA ROYALE – Fractious in the barrier. Shifted out on jumping bumping with GLOBAL ROCKET. Failed to muster pace in the early stages and trailed the field for the majority. Trainer K Krogh advised that it is his intention to retire the gelding from racing. Nonetheless Trainer Krogh was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s competitiveness. Race 4: STEEJO PRESS OPEN PLATE 1000 metres LEVEL EIGHT – Raced wide rounding the home turn. FA FA – Raced wide for the majority. Race 5: CAVA HYDRAULICS Benchmark 50 Handicap 1100 metres MYOLA MILLY – Slowly away. Passing the 700m commenced to race ungenerously due to the kickback. Raced wide rounding the home turn.
