GENERAL
 
Race 1: SUNSET BUTCHERY BENCHMARK 60 Handicap (1450m)
FINGERTIPS – Raced wide majority.
DANAWI – Had to be Steadied of heel in the early stages when over racing.
HIGH I CUE – Raced wide majority.
FINGERTIPS – Raced wide rounding home turn.
 
Race 2: AAA VET CLINIC BENCHMARK 55 Handicap (1000m)
SUB ROSA – Bumped on jumping.
METEORANO – Bumped with another runner on jumping.
STROKE OF MAGIC – Stewards permitted rider J. Baker to ride the mare 4kg overweight as no other suitable rider was available. Began awkwardly slow into stride.
HI ZERO – Raced wide majority.
 
Race 3: BARRA RACING OPEN Handicap (1000m)
CATO – Blundered at the start dislodging Jockey J. Hoopert. After being treated by QAS Officers on course, J Hoopert was then transported to Mount Isa hospital for further observation. Jockey J Hoopert was advised he will require a medical clearance prior to returning to riding. Post– race veterinary examination reveal the gelding to have sustained a minor abrasion on the near side hind leg.
MR TINDALL – Fractious in the barriers. Began awkwardly, post-race veterinary examination revealed traces of blood in the left nostril due to a minor laceration.
DUKES COUNTY – Jockey D. Ballard could not make the weight and was replaced by Jockey K. Ballard. Jockey D. BALLARD was fined $100 under the provisions of AR190(3). - accepting a ride when overweight. Raced wide majority. Underwent a post -race veterinary examination due to cramping in the off-hind leg and was treated by the veterinarian.
 
Race 4: MIKKELSEN ELECTRICAL QTIS Class 1 Handicap (1200m)
DEVIL – Stewards permitted rider J. Baker to ride the gelding 4.5 kg overweight as no other suitable rider was available.
COUNT MICHELIN – Raced wide rounding the home turn.
SPURCIFIC JOURNEY – Bumped on jumping. Raced wide majority.
HOLLYWOOD SCANDAL – Bumped with another runner on jumping. Raced wide majority.
 
Race 5: HAPPY EASTER Class 6 Plate (1200m)
ONTHETAKE – Began awkwardly. Slow into stride. Jockey T. Hill was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for his use of the whip, 6 times prior to the 100m.
IRON MASK – Stewards accepted the explanation for the late rider engagement from trainer Ms T Parry.
MOPAR – Raced wide majority.
DON’T DESPAIR – Stewards permitted rider D. Ballard to ride the gelding 1.5kg overweight as no other rider was available. A post -race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have bled from both nostrils. Trainer J Morris was advised DON’T DESPAIR shall not without the permission of the Stewards; (a)be trained exercised or galloped on any racecourse for a period of two months; (b) start in any race for a period of three months; and then only after a satisfactory gallop of at least 1,000 meters in the presence of a Stewards. AR79(4)
