QUEENSLANDRACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT MOUNT ISA RACE CLUB MOUNT ISA SATURDAY 27 APRIL 2024 WEATHER – FINE TRACK RATING – DIRT RAIL – True Entire Course OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – D. GriffithsStewards – J McIntosch General: Trainer Ms S Royes reported at 12.05 p.m. that she would be late arriving on track due to horse transport issues. Jockey A Thomson who did not arrive at the track was replaced on the following -: Race 1 - Ashmolean -- J Babarovich. Race 2 – Greenheart – J. HoopertRace 3 – Good Kitty – J BakerRace 5 – Pressure and Time – J BakerRace 7 – Northern Girl – T Hill Jockey A Thomson will be stood down from race riding forthwith, pending a satisfactory reason being provided to Stewards in relation to her absence. Scratchings: Race 1 Snapoutofit (NZ), Golden EightyRace 3 KarboursRace 4 Louie The Legend (Engaged Race 1), ZumikonRace 5 Valonia Race 6 The Champ (Late scratching 9.00 a.m. for Veterinary reasons), Wolf Point (Engaged Race 1).Race 7 Revved Up Ready Race 1: BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP - 1450m WOLF POINT – Slow into stride. Overraced at the 1200 metres and eased when overracing between runners at the 600 metres. ON THE TAKE – Slow to begin. ASMOLEAN – Slow to begin. Tired over the concluding stages and finished a considerable distance behind the remainder of the field. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer T Hall was advised to notify Stewards should anything become apparaent in the coming days in relation to the mares poor performance and also not to start the mare again until satisfied it would be competative. Race 2: BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 900m SOOPAT –Steadied when hampered at the 600 metres due to Scarpa (K Ballard) shifting in. . SCARPA– Shifted in at the 600 meters, crowding the running of Soopat (Apprentice M Campbell) . Jockey K Ballard was reprimanded for allowing Scarpa to shift in when not sufficiently clear at that point. AR131(a)MERSEY GIRL – A pre-race veterinary examination passed the mare fit to race. Race 3: MAIDEN PLATE 1000m EGALITE- Fractious in the barriers and slow into stride. BETHEHORSE – Slow into stride. Race 4: OPEN PLATE 1000m FAB’S COWBOY – Apprentice M Campbell was reprimanded for allowing her mount to shift in at the 900 metres causing a tightening to Wicked Wiki which had to be steadied. AR131(a). WICKED WIKI – Tightened for room at the 900 meters when Fab’s Cowboys shifted in. Race 5: CLASS 1 HANDICAP 1000m JATOBI – Fractious in the barriers. LADY HURIBEL- Fractious after moving onto the track and also behind the barriers . Race 6: CLASS 6 PLATE 1200m SOLE HEIR – Raced three wide throughout. Race 7: CLASS B HANDICAP 1200m VALONIA – Slow to begin. A post race veterinary examination revealed a small laceration to the off side fetlock. NORTHERN GIRL- Slow to begin.
