QUEENSLANDRACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT MOUNT ISA RACE CLUB SATURDAY 8 JUNE 2024 WEATHER – FINE TRACK RATING – SAND RAIL – TRUE OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – P. Gillard Stewards Panel – R. Prowd (Assistant) Clerk of Scales – Stewards Race 1: CINEMA ISA CLASS 3 PLATE – 1200 Metres FIRE UP BRUCE – Delayed the start when fractious in the barrier rearing on several occasions being declared a late scratching at 2.07pm by order of stewards. On the announcement of correct weight all monies invested on FIRE UP BRUCE was ordered to be refunded with deductions of 19 cents in the dollar on the face value of win bets and 20 cents in the dollar on the face value of all place bets to be applicable. Trainer J. Baker was advised he must obtain a further barrier certificate for the gelding prior to its next race start. DEFINITELY FAMOUS – Slow to begin. SINGLE MALT – Raced wide in the early and middle stages. RACE 2: COLONIAL SUPERMARKET BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP - 1000 METRES BIONIC – Slow to begin. SUNVALLEY DREAMING – Resented the kickback near the 700 metres and lost ground. Race 3: NORTH WEST WEEKLY COPPERMARKET OPEN HANDICAP – 1100 Metres REBEL SALUTE – Slow to begin. LAST DESCEND – Shifted in at the start and a short distance later bumped NOT ANOTHER REIBY on two occasions. Resented the kickback near the 1000 metres and had a tendency to climb, losing ground. NOT ANOTHER REIBY – Shortly after the start was bumped on two occasions. Raced wide rounding the 700 metre turn. RACE 4: CAVA MOUNT ISA CUP/OUTBACK RACING SHOWCASE – HEAT – OPEN HANDICAP – 1450 METRES STAMPEDE WARRIOR – Wide early stages. COUNT OF CARFORD – Wide early and middle stages.BARRICHELLO – Raced wide for the majority. Race 5: SUNSET BUTCHERS QTIS RATINGS BAND 0 - 55 HANDICAP – 1450 Metres FORSETI – Slow to begin. WOLF POINT – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority. MISHANI EAGLE – Shifted out at the start making heavy contact with JAKAZONE. FAR REACHING – Bumped heavily on jumping and became unbalanced. Hampered momentarily near the 1200 metres. JAKAZONE – Bumped heavily on jumping becoming unbalanced and shifted out bumping FAR REACHING.FROZEN PRINCE – Laid in near the 1200 metres hampering FAR REACHING.
