QUEENSLANDRACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT MT PERRY RACE CLUB SATURDAY 12th NOVEMBER 2022 WEATHER – Fine TRACK RATING – Good 3 RAIL – True OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – K DalyStewards – R HansonClerk of Scales – G BrauerJudge – W SmithVeterinarian – Dr S RaeStarter – G MooneyAssistant Starter – B Jensen Race 1 - QTIS Maiden Plate (1000 METRES) EMPIRE CLUB – Raced wide for the majority of the event. ROCK DREAMER – After being crossed by CRAIGLEA LAKI in the early stages, then commenced to over-race at heels for a short distance approaching the 800m. LADY ORATORIO – Bumped at the start. METALLIC REIGN – Began awkwardly and lost ground. BONAFIED DIETY – Jumped out abruptly at the start and bumped LADY ORATORIO. JAIN – Raced wide for the majority of the event. Race 2 - Class B Handicap (1000 METRES) AGRACIANA – Tightened at the start and lost ground when KARTANUP shifted in abruptly. In the presence of trainer R Periera, apprentice L Sykes, rider of AGRACIANA, was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for use of the whip on six occasions prior to the 100m, one more than permitted. COME CLEAN – Raced wide for the majority of the event. INFINITE JOY – Began awkwardly and lost ground. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the horse to have bled from both nostrils for the second time, and as such INFINITE JOY will now incur a lifetime ban from racing under AR79(6). SCRUFF’N’STUFF – Raced wide for the majority of the event. SOLARCH – Began awkwardly. ETHELDA – Laid in under pressure in the home straight. VIZONE – Raced wide for the majority of the event. KARTANUP – Shifted in abruptly at the start. Race 3 - Handicap (1000 METRES) SWEET VENOM was declared a late scratching at 2:20pm when the horse was found to be lame in the near foreleg. On declaration of correct weight Stewards ordered all bets on SWEET VENOM be refunded in full and deductions of 19c win and 20c place to apply on face value of all winning bets prior to 2:20pm. Trainer G Richardson was advised SWEET VENOM would require a veterinary clearance prior to its next race or trial start. SPLASHER – Slow to muster speed in the early stages. DAUNTING PRINCESS – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Raced wide in the early and middle stages of the event. CONAIR – Slow to begin. Race 4 - BAND 0 - 60 Handicap (1200 METRES) COMMENTS – Raced wide in the early and middle stages. When asked to comment on the performance rider S Willis advised instructions were to not overly pressure the horse in the early stages and if possible, come with one run. She added after settling in a midfield position COMMENTS failed to respond to her riding from the 500m and was disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. NINE CIGARS – Jumped out at the start and bumped FLICK. FLICK – Bumped at the start and lost ground. Race 5 - 0 - 55 Handicap (1400 METRES) WAITAKERE – T Banks, rider of WAITAKERE, was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for use of the whip on six occasions prior to the 100m, one more than permitted. PERSIAN FRONT – Bumped at the start when FEND OFF jumped in. Hampered a short distance after the start. DAULAT ULTI MAIORA – Slow to begin. I’M THE BUSINESS – Approaching the 1200m steadied when crowded for room by CRAIGLEA BANDIT which shifted in when not fully clear. H Richardson, rider of CRAIGLEA BANDIT, was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances. FEND OFF – Jumped in at the start. Hampered a short distance after the start. Raced wide for the majority of the event. RUN THE CUTTER – Shifted in abruptly a short distance after the start despite the efforts of its rider resulting in FEND OFF and PERSIAN FRONT both being hampered. Raced wide for the majority of the event.GALVARINO – Slow to begin. Race 6 - OPEN Handicap (1400 METRES) MUWARRAD – Forced wide from the 600m. MODERN FAMILY – Slow to begin.
