Race 1: BECHLY’S TRANSPORT MAIDEN PLATE 800m


VALDA was slow to begin.

BLUE STAR began awkwardly shifted out and bumped BRAZEN JAKE. A short distance later OUR STARLIGHT shifted out forcing BLUE STAR wider which inconvenienced BRAZEN JAKE.

BRAZEN JAKE and OUR STARLIGHT both raced wide throughout the event.

Approaching the 400m and up until the 200m, STRONG BLACK raced in restricted room.

Near the 100m, ELLE STYLE was tightened for room between EVERINGHAM and STRONG BLACK which shifted out under pressure, as a result ELLE STYLE was forced out and made contact with EVERINGHAM which shifted out abruptly, as a consequence AMP IT UP AUSSIE which was following had to be checked. In this incident I. Coombes rider of STRONG BLACK was issued with a reprimand.







Race 2: DEB FRECKLINGTON MP CLASS 1 HCP 1000m



BUTTONS was slow to begin and raced wide for the majority of the event.

SILVER FLUTE was slow to begin.

TREECAT MAGIC began awkwardly and bumped IN A HUFF.

RANNA’S JEWEL raced wide throughout the event.

BUTTONS hung out rounding the home turn. Trainer T. Cotsiopoulos will be advised that a warning will placed against the mare’s racing manners.







Race 3: MCDONALDS KINGAROY MAIDEN HCP 1200m


RUBIS shifted out at the start and bumped DELIGHTSOME.

CANID and FAMECHON BARONESS were both tightened for room at the start between JACK’S JILL and PEARLS DESTINY which shifted in abruptly.

FAMECHON BARONESS raced wide throughout the event and its rider dropped her whip near the 100m.

The veterinary surgeon reported that PEARLS DESTINY had lost its near fore plate in running and also that the mare had received a laceration to it’s off side hind, consistent with being galloped on.

When questioned regarding the performance of LINDSTOL which trialled the field throughout, rider D. Carrigg stated that the gelding was reluctant to stretch out at any stage of the event and proved disappointing, she added in her opinion the gelding may be better suited to races over further distances. Trainer P. Butterworth expressed his disappointment in the performance but could offer no tangible excuse for the performance. Mr Butterworth was advised to report and abnormalities following the event.
A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities at time of exam.





Race 4: HUSTON NISSAN B’MARK 65 HCP 1200m


Correct weight was delayed to allow the connections of the third placegetter OCTAVANUS the opportunity to view the films to determine whether they had grounds to lodged an objection. After viewing the films the connections declined to proceed.

GOLD RECORD shifted out at the start and made contact with DESERT LAIR.

Apprentice R. Payne rider of DESERT LAIR, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding in that approaching the finishing post, she permitted her mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of RODRIGEUZ, resulting in RODRIGEUZ being tightened for room causing its rider to take hold of her mount and becoming unbalanced. Apprentice R. Payne’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 5 meetings to commence at midnight 7 August and to expire at midnight 13th August 2014.




Race 5: XXXX GOLD/ CARROLEE HOTEL NANANGO CUP HCP 1600m


GENTLE GIANT was slow to begin.

RELEASE ME overraced when racing wide in the early stages of the event.

EXTREME MOVER was inclined to lay in under pressure in the home straight resulting in its rider having to stop riding for a short distance.



Race 6: CALTEX ENERGY CLASSS B HCP 1600m


HILDESHEIM was declared a late scratching at 1.07pm on veterinary advice after injuring itself on the float on the way to the course.

M’SIEUR MONTPELIER and BELLADONNA DELAGO were both slow to begin.

GETTIN’JIGGYWITHIT began awkwardly.

LADY HORSEPOWER shifted out at the start and bumped SWEET KWILA.

Approaching the 1400m BELLADONNA DELAGO was crowded for room to the inside of MASTER VINNIE which shifted in.

BADBOYCURTIS and O’BRO raced wide throughout the event.

Apprentice R. Payne reported at scale that M’SIEUR MONTPELIER was inclined to hang in throughout the event.

J. Brown trainer of SWEET KWILA reported to stewards that mare did not appreciate the firm racing surface. SWEET KWILA lost its off fore plate in running.
