Race 1: CLASS B HDCP 800 Metres

After arriving behind the barriers stewards directed all horses to be returned to the saddling enclosure as medical attention was required to attend App C Miles (SAYKRID LADY) who had been injured after being dislodged in the saddling enclosure. As a replacement ambulance was required this event ran approx. 35 minutes late.

As a result of this delay, the following race start times were amended:
Race 2: 2:35pm; Race 3: 3:05pm; Race 4:3:35pm and Race 5:4:05pm

ANXPENSE – jumped in at the start hampering runners to the inside.

KARMA FORCE – laid in under pressure over final 150 metres placing its rider at a disadvantage.

SECOND HAND LION – raced wide for majority of the event. Rider L McCoy reported at scale the gelding was inclined to hang in at various stages of the event.

COALBANK CAVIAR – began awkwardly, raced wide and had a tendency to hang in for majority of the event. Lost near hind plate in running.

POETIC DRAGON – made contact with saddling enclosure gate moving onto the track, examined by Club Vet behind barriers and cleared to start.

EVERINGHAM – bumped at the start and lost ground.

SAYKRID LADY – fractious in saddling enclosure, reared and flipped over, subsequently declared a late scratching on Vets advice at 1:26pm. Prior to declaration of correct weight stewards ordered all bets on SAYKRID LADY be refunded in full with deductions of 6 cents win and 7 cents place face value on all winning bets prior to 1:26pm to apply. SP’s are not subject to deductions. App C Miles, who was injured in this incident, was treated on course before being transported to Kingaroy hospital. App Miles will require a medical clearance before resuming race riding. Trainer J Curtain was advised a warning would be placed on the pre-race manners of SAYKRID LADY.

Race 2: BENCHMARK 55 HDCP 1000 Metres

DARLING BE GOOD – App R Johnston-Bell was reprimanded under AR137(b) and advised of his obligations to ride his mounts out fully to the line.

JEPTOO – held up rounding the home-turn, then a short distance later obliged to shift out around heels to obtain clear running.

JAI’S LUCK – soon after the start saddle shifted to the off-side replacing rider J Hoopert at a disadvantage for the remainder of the event.

Race 3: MAIDEN PLATE 1200 Metres

FRONT FOOT – began awkwardly. Rider reported at scale had a tendency to hang out for the majority of the event.

RUMBA LAARA – jumped out at the start and lost ground. Raced wide for the majority of the event.

Race 4: BENCHMARK 50 HDCP 1200 Metres

DEPUTY PECK – came together and bumped with another runner near the 150 metres.

DR QUINCY – jumped in at the start hampering another runner.

BEER’N’BARMAID – raced wide in the early stages of the event.

PRINCE OF PEACE – hampered at the start when another runner jumped inwards. Came together and bumped with another runner near the 150 metres.

SOLO MILO – stewards acceded to a request from trainer Mr A Hayward to race without the near side bubble-cheeker, part of the mares approved gear, after it was unable to be fitted to the bridle. Commenced to hang out from the 700 metres and then shifted wider on the track rounding the home-turn placing its rider at a disadvantage for the remainder of the race. A post race Vet examination of SOLO MILO failed to reveal any abnormality. After taking into account submissions from Mr Hayward a warning was issued against SOLO MILO for hanging out.

Race 5: BENCHMARK 60 HDCP 1600 Metres

J Parr was incorrectly shown as the rider of I’M NO RUBY when J King was the declared rider.
