QUEENSLAND RACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT NANANGO RACE CLUB – SATURDAY, 15 APRIL 2017 WEATHER – FINE TRACK RATING – GOOD 3RAIL – TRUE OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – N Boyle Stewards – C Fedrick Clerk of Scales – B WebbJudge – P Chilton, C WeidemannVeterinarian – Dr J FearnleySwab attendants – J CromptonBookmakers Supervisor – G WattStarter – K Dennien GENERAL - As apprentice A Spinks was riding at Toowoomba he was not able to fulfil his riding engagements and therefore was replaced in races 3 & 4 as per summary. Race 1: James Curtain Racing Class B Handicap 800m COALBANK CAVIAR – Stewards accepted the explanation tendered for the late declaration of rider for the gelding. Bumped heavily on jumping causing the rider to become unbalanced and eventually being dislodged. Rider N Nishio was examined by Ambulance personnel and cleared to fulfil his later engagements. SYLVAN PRINCESS – Passing the 600m was inconvenienced by the riderless COALBANK CAVIAR. MARREW MIA – Began awkwardly and shifted out bumping heavily with COALBANK CAVIAR. ANXPENSE – Bumped heavily on jumping causing it to lose ground. IN TAIWAN – Hampered severely between runners shortly after the start and lost several lengths. HIDDEN ANGEL – Hampered shortly after the start when bumped by IN TAIWAN. AGENT ALBERT – Hung out in the early stages and rounding the home turn. Race 2: Bechley’s Transport Benchmark 65 Handicap 1000m HAVEN ANGEL – Momentarily held up rounding the home turn. GLENTHORN AVENUE – Slow to begin. TURBO TEDDY – Had a tendency to lay in under pressure in the home straight. Race 3: McDonald’s Kingaroy QTIS Maiden Plate 1000m As apprentice A Spinks was riding at another venue Stewards permitted D Hayse to replace him as the rider of SKYLAR’S STAR. WILY MISS – As the filly had not started in a race since November 2014, was pre-race examined by the club veterinarian and cleared to start. ELEY – Fractious in the mounting yard and dislodged the rider on a number of occasions and then when finally mounted was reluctant to proceed to the barriers. Stewards declared it a late scratching at 2.38pm. All bets placed on ELEY were to be refunded in full. All successful bets placed prior to 2.38pm the following deductions to apply: Win bets placed on the winner #4 6 cents in the dollarPlace bets on the winner #4 7 cents in the dollarPlace bets on second #5 7 cents in the dollarPlace bets on third #6 7 cents in the dollar All SP bets were not subject to deductions. Trainer Ms C Vick was advised that the gelding must compete in an official trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to racing again. MESSAGEINABOTTLE – Broke through the barriers and travelled a short distance before being restrained by the rider. Upon returning to the barriers was examined by the club veterinarian and cleared to take its place in the field. HARVEY DENT – Raced wide throughout. GOD GRACIOUS MAE – Began awkwardly. MAC’S BOY – Upon returning to the enclosure it was noticed that the gelding had bled from both nostrils. As this was the first time the gelding had bled it will now be barred from racing for three months and then only allowed to race after passing a 1000m gallop to the satisfaction of Stewards. .Race 4: Fiedler Brothers Plumbing Benchmark 55 Handicap 1200m As apprentice A Spinks was riding at another venue Stewards permitted D Hayse to replace him as the rider of ALL OUR WIVES. SOLO MIO – Fractious behind the gates and dislodged the rider who escaped any injury and remounted the mare. SPARKLING GIFT – Bumped on jumping and then raced three wide throughout. Hung out rounding the home turn taking EIGHT CHANCE wider on the track. EIGHT CHANCE – Rounding the home turn was taken wider on the track by SPARKLING GIFT which hung out. NIGHT WOLF – Began awkwardly and bumped SPARKLING GIFT Race 5: Pursers Buses Benchmark 50 Handicap 1600m PRINCE OF PEACE – Stewards accepted the explanation tendered for the late declaration of rider for the gelding. COMMANDER BOLTZ – Weakened after passing the 600m and finished at the rear of the field. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
