QRIC Stewards Report NANANGO RACE CLUB: 8th SEPTEMBER 2018Weather: Cloudy Track: Good 4 Rail: TrueStewards: K Daly, C Fedrick Starter: K DennienClerk of Scales: B WebbJudge: P Chilton, C WeidemanVeterinarian: Dr S MorrowSwab Attendant: J Crompton Race 1: MAIDEN PLATE 800 Metres HEAR COMES FURIO – began awkwardly and lost ground at the start. YESTERDAY’S MONEY – raced wide throughout and then hampered rounding the home-turn when SHQER CROI hung out. SHEQER CROI – commenced to hang out leaving the 500m and as a result made the home-turn awkwardly. A post-race Vet exam revealed no significant abnormalities. Trainers representative for Mr B Hudson indicated to Stewards the stable will consider gear changes prior to SHEQER CROI’s next race start. Race 2: BENCHMARK 65 HDCP 800 Metres On return to scale a protest was lodged by App H English, rider of 4th placegetter MURRANJI against 3rd placegetter LIVERPOOL JANE alleging interference shortly after the start. After taking evidence from the riders concerned and viewing the available patrol films, Stewards found LIVERPOOL JANE shifted out marginally joining the course proper at the 700m resulting in MURRANJI being steadied when placed in restricted room between LIVERPOOL JANE and MUSIC SCENE which was racing to its immediate outside. Bearing in mind where the incident took place, and the minor shift from LIVERPOOL JANE, Stewards dismissed the protest and correct weight declared on the semaphored placings. LIVERPOOL JANE –inclined to lay out from majority of the event MUSIC SCENE – taken wider rounding the home-turn ORLEANS – raced wide throughout MURRANJI – taken out shortly after the start and obliged to steady from heels. Race 3: CLASS B HDCP 1000 Metres THE HOOLIGAN – inclined to lay in under pressure over final 100 metres of the event. PAST DARK – rider reported at scale the mare may have locked up in near hind stifle during the race. A post-race Vet exam revealed no abnormality. Raced wide in the early and middle stages of the event. ASK AUDREY – jumped out at the start. When asked to comment on the apparent improved performance trainer P Sexton stated ASK AUDREY, had suffered a form lapse after being involved in a fall at Dalby on 4th Nov 2017. He added ASK AUDREY was first up today after a significant break, had worked well and was confident of a forward showing in today’s event. LIL RUBY ROSE – tightened on jumping between runners and lost ground. NEW YORK MISS – slow to begin. NONCHALANTE – checked and lost significant ground when tightened between runners on jumping away. Held up and unable to improve between the 500m and 300 metres. Obliged to shift in to obtain clear running approaching 100m. SOLGAZE – taken in at the start and inconvenienced SIR LOCKSMITH – raced wide for majority of the event. Race 4: BENCHMARK 55 HDCP 1200 Metres CRAFTY AQUILA – App M Nikao was reminded of her obligations to ride her mounts out fully to the line.
