App Mackie felt that the gelding would race best back in the field and that it hit the line well. When asked by Stewards if there was an opportunity to improve between the 800m and home turn App Mackie said that she was mindful of not wanting to come wide on the course as she was inexperienced and attempting to improve her riding skills by looking elsewhere for racing room. Trainer G Schrader also stated that he expected AQUABILL to race in a rearward position and would likely find todays distance too short. Stewards whilst noting the explanation tendered by App Mackie were of the view that she may have erred in the tactics in which she adopted and intend to refer her ride to the Racing Queensland Apprentice Panel for review and further tutorage.
