Correct weight was delayed when Bradley Appo, rider of second placegetter PETITE ELLE, requested to view the patrol films to ascertain whether he had grounds to lodge a protest against the 1st  placegetter MONT MONT ridden by Ty Wheeler. After viewing the stewards’ patrol footage, 2nd placegetter Bradley Appo (PETITE ELLE), lodged an objection against MONT MONT being declared the winner alleging interference rounding the home turn. After taking evidence from all parties and viewing the videos, it was established that when rounding the home turn, MONT MONT and PETITE ELLE came into contact when MONT MONT was attempting a narrow run and as a result, Bradley Appo became momentarily unbalanced in the saddle and lost ground. However, as stewards could not be satisfied that the extent of the interference to PETITE ELLE was greater than the three-length winning margin separating both runners at the finish, the protest was dismissed and correct weight was declared on the Judge’s placings.

At a subsequent inquiry Stewards considered whether the protest was frivolous, however in the circumstances, elected not to take the matter further.
