GENERAL:
 
GENERAL ELLIOT was declared a late scratching at 9:15am. Trainer C White was reprimanded under LR36(3) for failing to scratch by the prescribed time. In assessing penalty Stewards considered Ms Whites’ excellent record under this rule and that her actions did not cost another horse a run in the race.
 
ARATULA was declared a late scratching at 11:15am when trainer M Patterson advised the gelding was unable to be loaded onto the float.
 
Due to current covid restrictions Stewards permitted the following weight variation:
Race 3: SHEZA FIRECRACKER – App J Molloy – 55kg (+1kg)
 
Race 1 - Class B Handicap (800 METRES)
 
Declaration of correct weight was delayed allowing C Meehan, rider of second place getter RAINING RICHES, to view the photo finish image for first. After doing so correct weight was declared on the semaphored placings.
 
SPIRIT OF LUCK – Crowded for room and had to be steadied near the 700 meters when DREAM CHANCE laid out. Approaching the 100 meters was hampered when CALINDA shifted in under pressure. J Morris, rider of CALINDA, was reprimanded for careless riding under AR131(a).
 
IGBO – After being loaded into the barriers, broke through, was quickly restrained, underwent a veterinary examination, and was cleared to start.
 
CALINDA – Delayed arriving on track due to a float breakdown.  Underwent a veterinary examination prior to the event and cleared to start.  Slow to begin.
 
LITTLE CAESAR – Raced four-wide for the majority of the event.
 
LOVE’S BEST HOPE – Checked near the 700 metres when DREAM CHANCE laid out.
 
RAINING RICHES – Shifted out abruptly at the start.
 
SAINT NO MORE – Checked at the start between RAINING RICHES and LA BELLE LA BELLE both of which shifted ground.
 
DREAM CHANCE – Laid out shortly after the start despite the efforts of its rider.
 
LA BELLE LA BELLE – Jumped in at the start. Raced three-wide throughout.
 
BILLIRUBIN – Fractious leaving the enclosure. Trainer B Laherty was advised a warning would be placed on the gelding’s pre-race manners. Slow to begin.
 
 
Race 2 - OPEN Handicap (1000 METRES)
 
VOULAIT – Raced four-wide for the majority of the event.
 
DIGGITY – Jumped out at the start.
 
ALLENA – Crowded on jumping and lost ground.
 
GOOD GRAB – Raced three-wide for the majority of the event.
 
CRAFTY AQUILA – Bumped on jumping.
 
 
Race 3 - Maiden Plate (1200 METRES)
 
EMPIRE DAY – Approaching the finish line, laid in under pressure resulting in App J Cornish being obliged to stop riding and straighten her mount.
 
ARCEAGLE – Rounding the home turn shifted out to improve and in doing so bumped TYPHOON TALAYAH.
 
TYPHOON TALAYAH – Bumped rounding the home turn.
 
SHEZE FIRECRACKER – Slow to begin.  Rider J Molloy reported the filly raced greenly for the majority of the event.
 
TWINKLE – Bumped at the start.  Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
JUST LIKE RULER – Approaching the 100 metres, obliged to shift out across heels to obtain clear running.
 
MISTER QUICKSTEP – Slow to begin.  Over-raced in the early and middle stages of the event.
 
BEEF’N’BLACK BEAN – Jumped out at the start.
 
 
 
Race 4 - QTIS BENCHMARK 50 Handicap (1200 METRES)
 
STATIC LIFT – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
KAKATIYA – Slow to muster speed in the early stages of the event.
 
MARRIED IN VEGAS – Slow to begin.
 
THE OLD BIRD – Slow to begin.
 
FLYING KASS – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
ONE OF THE KIND – Rider H Phillips dropped her whip leaving the 200 meters.
 
KITTY KAT’S KITTEN – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
 
Race 5 - Class B Handicap (1600 METRES)
 
GOLDEN GOAL – Turning in to the back straight near the 1400 metres, shifted in of its own accord, became unbalanced and made heavy contact with SPRING SEASON.

LUCITOR – Rider S Stephan reported in her opinion the gelding did not appreciate today’s firm track.
 
GAIUS JULIUS – Raced three-wide without cover for the majority of the event.
 
EDDIEGATO – Laid in under pressure between the 400 metres and the 100 metres.
 
SPRING SEASON – Bumped heavily near the 1400 metres.
 
NICHOLAS ADAM – After being loaded into the barriers became fractious, was removed, underwent a veterinary examination and was cleared to start.  Raced three-wide with cover for the majority of the event.
