Oakfield Comanche – Raced wide throughout. Igbo – Became cast in the barriers and declared a late scratching on veterinary advice @1.17pm. Takemeoutback – Broke through the barriers and was declared a late scratching by order of stewards @1.13pm. Race 2: JEFF HANNAFORD QTIS BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 1000 METRES Airwing – Raced wide throughout. Raku’s Secret – Had to be steadied when improved on to heels of another runner approaching the 600m. Rapid Eagle (NZ) – Shifted in under pressure in the home straight. Dee Jay Cee – Saddled shifted shortly after the start, putting the horse and jockey Ms S Stephan at a disadvantage throughout the race. Red Gadget – Slow into stride. Jockey N Evans reported the filly never travelled or felt comfortable throughout the race. A subsequent post veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. Better Chill’em – Raced keenly in the middle stages. Race 3: PAT SEXTON RACING QTIS BM 50 1000 METRES Just Rafferty - Raced wide throughout. Under The Covers – Improved onto heels of LA BELLE LA BELLE approaching the 600m. Curry Connection – Raced three (3) wide in the back straight. Hava Shout – Raced five (5) wide from the 400m. Forced wider entering the home straight. Whistlin’ Arrow – Hung out entering the home straight. Quarter Past – Jumped awkwardly and then slow into stride. Race 4: AS FRESH AS CLEANING SERVICE MAIDEN PLATE 1200 METRES Par Un Nez – Checked over the concluding stages. Corsucan – Raced greenly in the home straight, Shifted in over the last 100m despite the effort of CORSUCAN rider, improved onto heels and was not full tested over the concluding stages. Rock Dreamer (NZ) – Hung in approaching the home turn despite the effort of ROCK DREAMER rider. Beaueta – Kicked out as the gates opened, was then slow into stride. Calathiel – Checked by ROCK DREAMER approaching the home turn. Race 5: NANANGO VETERINARY SURGERY CLASS B HANDICAP 1200 METRES Prince Of Diamonds – Checked off heels of FLYING KASS when it wanted to shift out over the concluding stages. Express Dragon - Raced wide throughout. Milagro – Began awkwardly, then slow into stride. Jeno – Slow into stride. Flying Kass – Shifted out when placed under pressure over the concluding stages. Race 6: HERITAGE BANK BURNETT TO THE BEACH BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1600 METRES Trust In Aloha – Fractious in the barriers, Jumped awkwardly and slow into stride. Raced three (3) wide till the 1000m. Ourlastpenny – Raced three (3) wide in the back straight. Consular – Jockey Ms H Richardson reported the gelding never travelled or felt comfortable on today’s surface.
