RACE 1: GHM ENERGY BENCHMARK 50 HCP - 800m
 
DOUBLE DOLLARS – Began awkwardly with its head in the air and lost ground.
 
ARTFUL SONG – Commenced to buck for a short distance shortly after the start. Trainer T. Higgins was advised that a warning would be issued on the gelding’s record for bucking.
 
RACE 2: ELDERS QTIS MAIDEN PLATE – 1000m
 
OPPENHEIMER – Gate was slightly slow to open. Slow to begin.
 
LAST SIDE – Jumped in the air at the start and bumped by AGUERO shortly after.
 
AGUERO – Began awkwardly.
 
AIR TO SPARE -  When questioned in relation to the improved performance, Trainer W. Baker advised that two starts ago at Springsure the gelding bucked and took no competitive part in the event. He added that at its most recent start at Augathella, the gelding failed to run out the 1300m of that event and for that reason dropped it back in distance for today’s event, and as such was confident in an improved performance today. Stewards noted the explanation.
 
RACE 3: WESTERN MEAT EXPORTERS BENCHMARK 60 HCP – 1000m
 
Prior to this event, the barriers were tested without any issues detected.
 
RUBY RED GIFT – Jumped in the air at the start.
 
KAPACHINO MISS – Raced wide throughout.
 
Apprentice A. Thompson (ROSIE’S SON) was reprimanded for using his whip in a manner, which raised his arm above shoulder height. 
 
RACE 4: MINNAMURRA PASTORAL CO NOORAMA CUP OPEN HCP – 1200m
 
MISS DELIMA – Slow to begin.
 
LOUPPY BEND – Raced wide throughout.
 
EXSTRATUM – Apprentice A. Thompson could other no explanation for the disappointing performance.
 
RACE 5: BYDAND PASTORAL CO CLASS B HCP – 1400m
 
As there was no other available riders at this meeting stewards permitted Apprentice J. Brand ( ZOOMING) to claim zero of her 1.5kg allowance.
 
MANGO LISTON – Began awkwardly.
 
RED GERANIUM – Raced wide early stages.
 
LOTHBROK – Began awkwardly and lost valuable ground on jumping away. Raced wide early stages.
