QUEENSLAND RACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT OAK PARK INK, SATURDAY 8TH JULY 2017WEATHER - FINE TRACK RATING – GOOD 3 (DIRT) RAIL - TRUE OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – Mr P. Murphy GENERAL Stewards today concluded an incident from the Mackay Turf Club, 20 April 2017 into the reasons rider C. Jokic, was dislodged from her mount in a barrier jump-out at the conclusion of the meeting. It was established that as the rider of MASON’S CHANCE, which competed in the first jump-out on the day following the race meeting began very awkwardly and blundered badly dislodging Ms Jokic shortly after the start. As no other rider or horse was involved in this incident stewards deemed this an unfortunate accident and the inquiry was finalised. COBUNGRA BOY and I AM BRUCE which both competed at the Oak Park meeting on Friday 7 July 2017 were examined by the veterinary surgeon prior their respective event today and were cleared to start. Due to communication difficulties, both YIFAN (Race 2) and DON’T TELL PETE (Race 4) were declared late scratching’s at 8.15am RACE 1: NCC BRAHMANS/ELANCO/OLSSONS/ZOETIS “COPPERFIELD” QTIS MAIDEN PLATE – 1200M WATTO’S JET – Slow into stride. Shifted wider on track leaving the 500m and raced wide from that point onwards. SAINTLY ROYALE – Lunged forward just prior to the start being officiated and as a result lost ground. MASON’S CHANCE – Raced wide in the early stages of the race. MAROON CREEK – Raced wide for the majority of the race. SCIOLTA – Raced wide for the majority of the race. Finished tailed off. A post-race veterinary examination revealed some swelling to its near hind leg however no lameness. Trainer K. Krogh, was advised a warning would be placed on the gelding’s poor performance. RACE 2: COLEMAN STOCK FEEDS ‘THE BANGLE” CLASS 4 H’CAP – 1200M FIZZICALLY WICKED – Shifted out near the 150m inconveniencing another runner. Rider J. Lambie, was severely reprimanded and advised to make a greater effort to keep his mounts straight in similar circumstances. BOYS FROM THE BUSH – Raced wide for the majority of the race. Shifted in slightly near the 150m inconveniencing another runner. Rider C. Jokic, was advised to exercise more care. I AM BRUCE – Checked near the 150m when tightened for room. ROCK SPUR – Raced wide early stages. COBUNGRA BOY – Raced wide for the majority of the race. HITCH ‘EM UP – Raced wide for the majority of the race. RACE 3: COLLIINS FAMILIES “SPRING CREEK MEMORIAL” CLASS B H’CAP – 1000M ALL BAR LILLY – Began awkwardly and lost ground. MY GIRL CHAZ – Slow to begin. CRAIGLEA ZING – Slow into stride. REVERENCE – Raced wide for the majority of the race. THANK YOU – Raced wide for the majority of the race. KAHUNA – Raced wide for the majority of the race. RACE 4: MM FNQ U&C STAYERS/BOOTHRURAL/BAYER AUST. “LYNDHURST SHIELD” BENCHMARK 60 H’CAP – 1600M CLEVFILLY – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the race. Rider S. Wilson advised stewards following the race that in his opinion the mare did not appreciate the firmness of today’s track. AWESOME SIGHT – Raced wide for the majority of the race. WHAT THE HECK – Raced wide for the majority of the race. BETTER CALL SAUL – When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of the gelding rider K. Rockett stated the gelding resented the kickback when racing back in the field and as a result hung out for the majority of the race and was reluctant to stretch out. RACE 5: COOPERS ANIMAL HEALTH /TILLY’S CRAWLER PARTS/ALL TERRAIN HELICOPTER CLASS 6 PLATE – 1000M SUSSEX STREET – Delayed the start when became fractious in the barriers. Was examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to start. Became fractious as the start was effected and lost considerable ground. Trainer T. Parry was advised the mare must obtain a further barrier certificate prior to being permitted to race again. REBEL ROVER – Restrained to avoid heels shortly after the start when hampered by another runner. Raced wide the majority of the race. HI MACKAY – Shifted out shortly after the start bumping another runner on the hind quarters and then shifted in hampering REBEL ROVER which had to be restrained. Checked near the 850m when tightened for room. Raced wide for the majority. PRIME SHADOW – Bumped on the hind quarters shortly after the start and became unbalanced. Raced wide in the early stages. Rider F. Edwards pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR137 (a) in that near the 850m he permitted that runner to shift in when not sufficiently clear of HI MACKAY (M. Haley) causing that runner to checked and shift in hampering ROCKETTE ROCKET (C. Jokic) which in turn shifted in hampering MAN AROUND TOWN (B. Thomson). F. Edwards licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 8 days to commence midnight Tuesday 18 July 2017 and to expire midnight 26 July 2017. FIVE STARS – Slow to begin. MAN AROUND TOWN – Slow to begin. Hampered near the 850m. ROCKETTE ROCKET – Raced wide for the majority of the race. Hampered near the 850m.
