Brady SUPPLEMENTRY REPORT: Oak Park Fridey 30 June 2023 – Race 2: OLSSON’S/GF RURAL FNQ/UNDARA EXPERIENCE/ZOETIS/NIMMO PLATE CLASS 3 PLATE – 1000 Metres DUBAI EAGLE – As the gelding was declared a late scratching at 1.55pm due to failing to arrive on course, it was subsequently established that this was due transportation difficulties. GENERAL:As the following runners had competed at Oak Park Friday 30 June 2023, they all underwent a veterinary examination and were cleared to start. RAMBLIN’ MAN, DAWN STRIKE, WHY WOULDN’T YOU and BIT OF FUN. The following runners which had not raced for an extended period all underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and were cleared to start. STAR BANNER, MISS BULITZ. Race 1: NTH QLD TOYOTA COWBOYS/LANCEFIELD BRAHMANS/HALPIN PARTNERS/ELDERS TOWERS COPPERFIELD QTIS MAIDEN PLT – 1200 Metres MISHANI PLATINUM – Slow to begin. Raced wide rounding the home turn. OLYMPIC MOTTO – Fractious in the barriers prior to the start and bounded in the air on jumping.Steadied near the 800 metres when attempting a doubtful run between DYSTOPIAN and CODY’S BOY. MUMBO BOWLER – Slow into stride. DYSTOPIAN – Raced wide in the early and middle stages. EYE OF RA – Raced wide in the early and middle stages. Over-raced in the early and middle stages. Rider L. Morrison advised stewards that in her opinion the gelding was not entirely comfortable on today’s racing surface. Race 2: COLIN COLEMAN MEMORIAL/COLEMAN STOCK FEEDS THE BANGLE CLASS 4 HANDICAP – 1200 Metres ROUGH CUT JEWEL – Was declared a late scratching at 8.10am on veterinary advice when found to suffered a stone bruise in its off front hoof. Trainer A. Bailey was advised he must provide a veterinary certificate of soundness prior to it being permitted to race or trial. POLICE (NZ) – Slow to begin. NANTUCKET – Slow to begin. MACIPENKO (GB) – Began awkwardly. Steadied near the 1100 metres and lost ground when racing in restricted room to the inside of SONOFTHEBEAST which was over-racing and shifted in marginally. Over-raced in the early stages. SONOFTHEBEAST – Over-raced in the early stages and shifted in near the 1100 metres crowding MACIPENKO. Race 3: THE COLLINS FAMILIES SPRING CREEK MEMORIALCLASS B HANDICAP – 1000 Metres CLASSIC CHANCE – Slow to begin.SAND AND OCEAN – Slow to begin.PAPARAZZI ROCKET – Raced wide for the majority of the race. Race 4: MAGIC MILLIONS/FNQ UP & COMING STAYERS BOOTH RURAL/ELANCO LYNDHURST SHIELD BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP – 1600 Metres DAWN STRIKE – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the race. Finished tailed off. Rider D. Smith was of the opinion the gelding did not back up from its previous start. Trainer J. Hassett agreed with the rider’s comments and advised it is now her opinion that DAWN STRIKE be sent for an immediate spell. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. FEMALE OFFICER – Restrained in the early stages to obtain a position closer to the inside running rail. NORAH – Raced wide for the majority of the race. WHY WOULDN’T YOU – Finished tailed off. Rider R. Shred was of the opinion the horse may have got its tongue over the bit leaving the 600 metres. Trainers T & P Rowe advised they would experiment with a gear change prior to its next start. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Race 5: COOPERS/GENEX/DONOHUES/LANES CREEK/HONEYCOMBES/LANES CRFEEK/GREENVALE ROADHOUSE/WERRINGTON PLATE CLASS 6 PLATE– 1000 Metres MISS BULITZ – Fractious during its preliminary. Trainer D. Reynolds will be advised a warning will be placed on its parading manners. Raced wide for the majority of the race. LOBURN LASS – Pushed its front barrier gates open prior to the start causing jockey L. Morrison to slip down the offside quickly restraining it. Ms Morrison declared herself free of any injury and LOBURN LASS was cleared to start. CHOCHRANE – Began awkwardly. STAR BANNER – Laid in in shortly after the start crowding BIT OF FUN which shifted in brushing the running rail. Raced wide for the majority of the race. BIT OF FUN – Crowded for room near 900 metres by STAR BANNER which had a tendency to lay in, and shifted in brushing the running rail and lost ground. ARROGANT HEART – Rider R. Shred advised the gelding was inclined lay out throughout the race and was never comfortable on today’s track conditions.HOKOLESQUE – Laid out rounding the home turn and shifted wider.
