QUEENSLANDRACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT OAK PARK RACE CLUB SATURDAY 6 JULY 2024 WEATHER – OVERCAST TRACK RATING – DIRT – GOOD (3) RAIL – TRUE PENETROMETER – N/A OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – P. GillardStewards – S. Copelin, A. Holzhauser (Cadet) GENERAL:Stewards conducted an inspection of the track following yesterday’s meeting and deemed it safe for racing. All riders submitted a random breath test with nil to report. Race 1: NTH QLD TOYOTA COWBOYS/LANCEFIELD BRAHMANS/HALPIN PARTNERS/COPPERFIELD QTIS MAIDEN PLT – 1200 Metres. GEORGY THE GREAT – Slow to begin. Raced wide in the early and middle stages. SNUGGLE BANG YAHOO – Slow to begin. Raced wide in the early and middle stages. Forced wider near the 1000 metres. KEEP ON RUNNING – Laid out for the majority of the race and shifted out rounding the 1000 metre turn forcing SNUGGLE BANG YAHOO wider. Lost ground near the 800 metres when being corrected. Wide early and middle stages. Race 2: COLEMAN STOCK FEEDS THE BANGLE CLASS 4 HANDICAP – 1200 Metres. DOMINANT ROSE – Connection advised stewards it would be the intention to ride the mare in a forward position if circumstances permit. Was ridden accordingly. Made the 1000 metre turn awkwardly. IMPARDOO – Fractious in the barriers prior to the start. BORLOTTI BEANS – Slow to begin. Made the 1000 metre turn awkwardly. NANO STAR – Blundered on jumping and when being corrected commenced to race keenly. Jockey S. Sheargold was of the opinion this was a telling factor of the mare not running a solid 1200 metres. BITTERGREYMAGIC – Laid out under pressure near the 100 metres becoming awkwardly placed on the heels of NEVETON and being checked. NEVETON – A post-race veterinary examination revealed a poor post-race recovery. Race 3: COLLINS FAMILIES SPRING CREEK MEMORIAL CLASS B HANDICAP – 1000 Metres. NORTHERN GIRL – Due to technical issues the mare was declared a late scratching at 10.00am. WICKED DREAMER –As the geldinghad not raced for an extended period it underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and were cleared to start. HARCASION – Slow to begin. TORQUE NOWOR NEVER – Slow to begin. FLY WITH YOU – Began awkwardly and shifted out bumping BLOOMIN’ RIPPER. Rider L. Morrison advised stewards on returning to scale she was of the opinion the gelding was stepping short in the near front leg. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a case of the thumps. Trainer A. Ryan was advised he must provide a veterinary clearance of fitness for the gelding prior to being permitted to race again. BLOOMIN' RIPPER – Bumped on jumping. HE'S ALL POWER – Laid out shortly after the start and approaching the 900 metres shifted out abruptly despite the efforts of its rider forcing WICKED DREAMER wider which in turn placed REVVED UP READY in an awkward position and having to be checked. Trainer T. Rowe was advised a warning would be placed on the racing manners of HE’S ALL POWER. REVVED UP READY – Checked near the 900 metres when awkwardly placed between runners. Raced wide for the majority of the race. Race 4: MAGIC MILLIONS/FNQ UP & COMING STAYERS BOOTH RURAL/ELANCO LYNDHURST SHIELD BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP – 1600 Metres. ZOOMERATTA – Due to technical issues the gelding was declared a late scratching at 10.00am. KOTABHARU – Raced wide for the majority of the race. Finished tailed off. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a poor post-race recovery. REMORSELESS – Raced wide for the majority of the race. Race 5: COOPERS/GENEX/DONOHUES/LANES CREEK/HONEYCOMBES TRUCKS/ COBBOLD GORGE/WERRINGTON PLATE CLASS 6 PLATE – 1000 Metres. POMADE – Barrier gates were marginally slow to open. Jockey S. Sheargold and Stewards were satisfied this had no material effect on the horses finishing position. DELUXE LEGEND – Blundered on jumping. GOSSIP TORQUE – Began awkwardly.RED BOOMSHAKALAKA – Raced wide without cover for the majority of the race and compounded over the concluding stages.
