Race 1: MACQUARRIE TRUCKS FLYER CLASS 3 HANDICAP - 800 metres
1st – Boris 2nd – General Weiland 3rd – Paris Icon 4th - Juninho

GENERAL WEILAND (S. Kaya) jumped outwards at the start, bumping A KNOWN FACT (A.Merritt) which then lost ground.

GO CHLOE (F. Edwards) and JUNINHO (J. Rudd) both raced wide rounding the home turn.

Prior to the declaration of correct weight Jockey A. Cox, the rider of IL CIBREO, made application that the gelding be declared a non-starter on the grounds that it had been denied a fair start. After hearing the evidence of Jockey Cox and viewing the patrol footage Stewards were satisfied that IL CIBREO had been denied a fair start when the barrier gates were slow to open which materially prejudiced the chances of IL CIBREO running a place. Subsequently, IL CIBREO was declared a non-starter with all bets made on IL CIBREO to be refunded and betting deductions of 26 cents in the dollar on the face value of all win bets and 19 cents in the dollar on the face value of all place bets to apply.

Prior to the declaration of correct weight Jockey S. Kaya, the rider of second placed GENERAL WEILAND, lodged an objection against first placed, BORIS (T. Hill) on the grounds of interference suffered by GENERAL WEILAND near the 400m. After hearing the rider’s evidence and viewing the patrol footage, Stewards could not be satisfied that GENERAL WEILAND suffered any interference directly attributable to BORIS and as such the objection was dismissed and correct weight declared on the numbers semaphored by the judge

Race 2: Amalgamated Pest Control / Pentland Progress / Tropic Distributors QTIS Maiden Plate - 1000 metres
1st – Raging Forties 2nd – Sunshine Lass 3rd – Dance Ducey Dance 4th - Molongle

GENORELL was declared a late scratching at 11.30am when Jockey G. Cullen was indisposed and no other rider was available.

Shortly after the start BERRICO CHRIS (J. Esser), ALTAMAREA (M. Elliott), DALSQUALO (D. Jones) and MOLONGLE (F. Edwards) were inconvenienced when tightened for room between RAGING FORTIES (P. Cullen) which shifted outwards and DANCE DUCEY DANCE (S. Kaya) which shifted inwards.

BERRICO CHRIS and DESIGNER JEANS (J. Rudd) were forced to race very wide rounding the home turn.

Jockey Elliott advised that ALTAMARAE which finished a distant last was slow to gather speed after being inconvenienced shortly after the start. Jockey Elliott also noted that ALTAMARAE was first up from a spell and was having only her second race start.

Race 3: Butchers on Bundock / Outback Helicopters Class B Handicap - 1000 metres
1st – Friday Celebre 2nd – Cabinet 3rd – Keepthelabel 4th – Yowie Bay

COOL AS CLANG (P. Cullen) was slow to begin.

YOWIE BAY (F. Edwards) and NOONEWANTSTOKNOW (S. Kaya) bumped as the start was affected.

Race 4: Pat Racing members Memorial Open Handicap - 1200 metres
1st – Fred The Legion 2nd – Alternate 3rd – Prince of Yodels 4th – Mr Sunset

Leaving the 150m FRED THE LEGION (S. Kaya) shifted out under pressure.

Race 5: Colemans Stock Feeds / WHK / Parry Nissan Pentland Cup Class 4 Handicap - 1600 metres
1st – Another Nip 2nd – Final Roar 3rd – Ideally Ready 4th - Associate

MATAMORE (S. Kaya) began awkwardly.

When questioned as to the performance of FINAL ROAR, Jockey J. Felix stated that instead of being caught three wide in the early stages he elected to restrain FINAL ROAR to the tail of the field. FINAL ROAR then began to over-race when the pace slowed in the middle stages so he elected to shift wider on the track to improve his position. However, IDEALLY READY (F Edwards) improved its position at the same time and as a consequence FINAL ROAR was forced to race four wide from the 700m onwards. Jockey Felix added that he was able to place FINAL ROAR under pressure leaving the 600m at which point the gelding responded to his riding and found the line well.

Jockey S. Kaya reported that when the pace slackened near the 850m MATAMORE began to over-race and as a result he allowed the gelding to improve around the field to take up a leading position.

ALL WINNERS WERE SENT TO BE SWABBED plus GENERAL WIELAND
