QUEENSLAND RACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS’ REPORT PENTLAND RACE CLUB – SATURDAY, 25 NOVEMBER 2017 WEATHER – FINE, TRACK RATING – DIRT (GOOD), RAIL – TRUE OFFICIALS Stewards – Mr A. Forster RACE 1: KITCHENS & JOINERY BY PAUL MIFSUD/COLEMANS STOCKFEED BM55 HANDICAP 800m FLAMINGO ROSE – Was declared a late scratching at 11:55am when trainer T. Parry advised stewards that the mare was very fractious in the float during transport resulting in injuries to both hind legs and would now be retired from racing. Trainer T. Parry was advised that the mare will require a veterinary clearance should it return to racing. REVERENCE – Slow into stride. SAMUEL JAMES – Raced 4 wide without cover. CHAT TIME – Raced 3 wide without cover. Hung in over the concluding stages. RACE 2: MAP TO MINE/TROPIC QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 2YO&UP 1000m MOSCOW LADY – Slow to begin when bounding at the start. WRONGLY ACCUSED – Shifted outwards shortly after the start and bumped heavily with GALLANT SAGA. GALLANT SAGA - Slow to begin when bounding at the start. Was hampered and became unbalanced for several strides shortly after the start when bumped heavily by WRONGLY ACCUSED, which shifted outwards. Raced ungenerously and shifted inwards near the 500m. MIGHTY MEERKAT – Slow to begin. Restrained near the 500m to avoid the heels of another runner. THE MARSHALL – Resented the kickback in running and subsequently raced wide for the majority. RANGA ROCKET – Raced 4 wide without cover from the 700m. OAKFIELD ARCHIE – Raced ungenerously near the 500m and shifted inwards to avoid the heels of another runner before being restrained and shifted outwards. Stewards inquired into an incident near the 500m where MIGHTY MEERKAT, ridden by Ms B. Thomson, was restrained when improving into a position to the inside of OAKFIELD ARCHIE, ridden by D. Sparks, which was racing to the inside of the heels of GALLANT SAGA, ridden by P. Cullen, which was racing tight with RANGA ROCKET, ridden by App R. Shred. It was established that approaching the 500m GALLANT SAGA, when racing tight with RANGA ROCKET, began to race ungenerously and shifted inwards marginally. OAKFIELD ARCHIE, which also commenced to race ungenerously when resenting the kickback, shifted inwards before being restrained and then shifted outwards across the heels of GALLANT SAGA. Subsequently, MIGHTY MEERKAT was restrained in anticipation of the shift inwards from OAKFIELD ARCHIE. As Stewards could not attribute blame to any one rider the matter was reported as a racing incident. RACE 3: JODO GOLD PTY LTD/LANDMARK CLASS B HANDICAP 1000m SLEEPING SATELLITE – Reared as the start was effected and lost ground. Raced wide for the majority. DENLAGO – Raced 4 wide without cover for the majority. PRINCESS CELESTIA – Layed in for a short distance upon straightening. CRAFTY BLONDE – Shifted outwards over the concluding stages. RACE 4: OTTO’S FRESH FOOD MARKETS/BARRS TYRES & BATTERIES BM65 HANDICAP 1200m ULTRA RED – Was declared a late scratching at 2:00pm when Trainer B. Williams advised stewards of transport difficulties and was unable to arrive on course by the prescribed time. DIURNAL TIGER – Shifted outwards at the start and bumped NOOGOORA BURR, which was taken out onto WE FOUND IT, which was taken out onto COUNT BLEVIC resulting in all runners to lose ground. Raced ungenerously throughout and resented the kickback. NIGHT WOLF – Wide for the majority. Resented the kickback in running. FRENCH SONG – Hung in near the 800m. RACE 5: HAMMER & CO/K HERROD SNR PENTLAND CUP CLASS 4 HANDICAP 1600m NO ANGEL HERE – Was declared a late scratching at 11:55am as no suitable rider was available. SILVER BOWS - Was declared a late scratching at 11:55am as no suitable rider was available. MORE NORTHERLY - Was declared a late scratching at 2:45pm when Trainer B. Williams advised of further transport difficulties and would not be able to arrive on course by the prescribed time. Masayuki Abe (RUNABOUT) – Was fined the sum of $100 under the provisions of AR120(b) for being 1.5kg overweight. As no other rider was available Jockey Abe was permitted to ride in this event. MUNJIZ – Slow to begin. HOTEL SPLENDIDO – Bumped with SPLENDABA on jumping. Raced wide for the majority. SPLENDABA – Bumped by HOTEL SPLENDIDO on jumping and was subsequently slow to begin. DREAMWORD BOUND – Shifted inwards when placed under pressure near the 200m and bumped with another runner. A short distance late again shifted in under pressure before being corrected. FAR NORTH – Shifted outwards when placed under pressure near the 200m and bumped with another runner. Continued to shift out under pressure over the concluding stages. Jockey C.
