GENERAL
Due to predicted sultry weather conditions, this race meeting was conducted within the Queensland Racing Integrity Commissions Caring For Racing Animals In Extreme Heat Policy.
Due to a technical failure this race meeting was conducted with no operational photo finish camera. All races were hand timed.
 
Race 1 - W. TITLEY & CO/JETT INDUSTRIAL SUPPLIES BENCHMARK 55 Handicap 800m metres
TRAVERS – Began awkwardly bumping another runner.
DANGERFIELD – Was bumped by another runner which shifted out on jumping. Raced wide for the majority.
FLASH HOMBRE – Raced wide on the home turn.
TATACHILLA – Raced wide on the home turn.
BETTER THAN SILVER – Raced wide on the home turn.

Race 2 - CHARTERS TOWERS FUNERALS AND MONUMENTAL QTIS Maiden Plate 1000 metres
VIZONE – Slowly into stride.
GET A MOVING JET – Fractious in barriers prior to the start. Began awkwardly. Bumped with another runner on jumping. Raced ungenerously in the early and middle stages. Raced wide on the home turn. Trainer B Williams reported that the gelding had shifted a plate in the running.
HONOUR A DREAM – Stewards permitted jockey F Edwards to ride the mare 0.5kg over its allocated weight. Bumped with another runner on jumping. Raced ungenerously in the early and middle stages. Raced wide throughout.
TINY TIARA – Bumped with another on jumping. Raced wide for the majority.
SUNNY EKCELS – Bumped with another runner on jumping. Raced wide for the majority.
ISIS TURBO – Raced wide for the majority. Momentarily disappointed for clear running approaching the 200m.
 
Race 3 - DIRECT WHOLESALE TYRES/BRODIE AGENCIES Class B Handicap 1000 metres
WATCH LIST (NZ) – Stood flat footed as the start was affected losing considerable ground. Trainer Ms T Parry was advised a warning would be placed on the mares racing manners.
SAPPHIRE WINGS – Began awkwardly shifting in and bumping with another runner.
MY BOY SOOTY – Began awkwardly bumping with another runner.
TIDAL FORCE – Raced wide for the majority. Hung out rounding the home turn. Trainer Ms S Royes was advised a warning would be placed on the mares racing manners.
BATTLE MOUNTAIN – Raced wide for the majority.
THAT’S OUR SONG – A post- race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have sustained a minor laceration to the near fore cannon.
 
Race 4 - ANN MACKERETH MEMORIAL BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1200 metres
SNIPPY STRATEGIC – Raced wide majority.
BOYER – Raced wide home turn.
 
Race 5 - HAMMER & CO PENTLAND CUP Class 4 Handicap 1600 metres
MISTER HAY ZEE – After failing to be competitive the gelding underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed no abnormalities. Trainer K Krogh was advised the gelding must perform to the satisfaction of Stewards in two consecutive barrier trials prior to being permitted to race again.
