Race 1: ACTIVE DIESEL / BARR’S TYRES & BATTERIES BENCHMARK 55 Handicap (800m) SEVEN YEAR REWARD – Slow into stride.METEORANO – Rider Ms B. Thomson reported that her right foot became caught in the side partition as the start was affected. Began awkwardly.CADENCE – Raced wide majority.DEVIL – Raced wide majority. Race 2: CHARTERS TOWERS FUNERALS QTIS MAIDEN PLATE (1000M)KINGMATE – Slow to begin. Raced greenly throughout.SINGLE MALT – Began awkwardly. Was reluctant to stretch out due to the kickback in running.FREYA’S FALCON – Raced wide majority. Race 3: JETT INDUSTRIAL Class B Handicap (1000m)The running of this race was delayed for 1hr 45mins due to trainer Ms T. Parry requiring medical attention by QAS Officers after being struck in the face by BROOK’S GIRL in the race day tie up stalls and was further delayed while QAS Officers attended to a member of the public which required a second ambulance being dispatched from Charters Towers.MARNDARRA – Began awkwardly. Shifted out on jumping inconveniencing a runner to its outside.BROOK’S GIRL – Was crowded on jumpingMISS BOUCHARD – Shifted in on jumping inconveniencing a runner to its inside.SHE’S ABLAZING – Stood flat footed losing considerable ground. Trainer Ms C. Dale was advised a warning would be placed on the mare’s barrier manners. Race 4: KOFFE & CONES / GOUGHS PLASTICS BENCHMARK 65 Handicap (1200m)SHARPAY RULER – Began awkwardly. Bumped with another runner on jumping. Raced wide rounding the home turn.WE’LL BEAT IT – Bumped on jumping.MYOLA MILLY – Raced wide majority.DOOM – Raced wide in the early and middle stages. Race 5: W. TITLEY & CO BENCHMARK 50 Handicap (1600m)Declaration of correct weight was delayed to allow J Felix rider of VISTA ORIENTRAL 2ND placegetter to view the patrol footage over the concluding stages. After viewing the footage Jockey J Felix elected not to proceed with any action and correct weight was subsequently declared on the judge’s numbers.VISTA ORIENTAL – Was bumped near the 200 metres by MILKY ROCKET which shifted out under pressure.MILKY ROCKET – Shifted out under pressure near the 200 metres bumping VISTA ORIENTAL. Jockey Ms J Doolan was severely reprimanded under AR131(a) and advised to stop riding and straighten her mounts in similar circumstances.OUR YOUNG MAN – Raced wide in the early and middle stages.RIVERSIDE BLUES – Raced wide majority. Race 6: HAMMER & CO PENTLAND CUP Class 4 Handicap (1600m)The running of this race was abandoned at 5.50 p.m. due to the Ambulance having to attend to an emergency off course.
